The worst dining experience ever had in Melb. The service was atrocious, the food average and the restaurant was empty. Requesting cutlery was an effort for the staff. Couldn’t make a standard drink of vodka n cranberry. The barman is the waiter and the rudest person you will meet in a restaurant. Refused to provide move around the table to place the plates in front of guests, ask us to do that. When my mums birthday cake came out, he stood on the opposite side of the table and asked us to move the cake down the table to her. Killing the surprise! Offered no fork or spoon to eat the cake until we asked. Providing water was an effort. Attached drink garnish (dried orange) with a wooden peg..strange and unhygienic! The food portions are small and we’re served luke warm. Almost like it was pre-made. Overall experience was 0 if I could rate it below 1! Do yourself a favour and never go there..plenty of delicious Indian restaurants in Melb that deserve your money.

Just wanted to add that this review is true and correct of my experience at this awful restaurant. The owner response proves my point! Rude service and deceitful as it is absolutely not what is show on instragram. Fake...

A second visit to this cool Indian cuisine restaurant, to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and I'm glad we chose this place for the dining experience. The vibe is warm and the seating is spacious. We could enjoy each other's company with little to no interruption. The staff here made us feel so so so welcome!! They even remembered our needs from our first visit!! I've never experienced this kind of service before! Their food catered to our needs perfectly. We ordered the Kerela Prawn Curry and the Lamb Bhuna curry. We loved both of them, but the prawn curry gets gold stars⭐ ✨!! Delicious and finger licking good! Ankit, the owner and the Head of Cocktails blew us away with the Bombay Spiced Cocktail and the Jezebel !! Unexpected flavours and just on point with what we wanted!! The cherry on the cake was a sweeeeet surprise for us as a lovely Anniversary wish from the Restaurant Owner!! Too too nice!

We are coming back soon!!! Hope to see some more new dishes & cocktails on the menu...

11 June 2023:

Great service, quality of the food and atmosphere. I actually expected a bigger dining area based on pics but they have accomodated and arranged the limited space very well - thats what I felt.

We ordered a mix of veg and non veg entrees. I must say it was the best onion pakoda and palak pakoda I have had in many years. :-)

Non veg starters were equally good.

The mains- All dishes including goat biriyani stood out. The meat was cooked perfectly and melts dow . Much easy for the kids too. The quanity for the biriyani was great for the value and the presentation of all dishes were excellent too.

One thing which I felt on the cocktails were - The taste was spot on but was the quantity less for the price ? Just my thought. :-)

Couldn't try the desserts unfortunately with the starters n mains we had ; but there is a next time for sure.

Shout out to both the young ladies who served at the counter and at the table. Great service.

Thanks once again, see u again next...

We came here tired after a really long day, looking for heart-warming food—and we definitely came to the right place. This could easily be the best Indian restaurant I’ve tried. The flavors, the attention to detail, and the presentation—everything was absolutely perfect. The service was very quick, and the servers were lovely, seating our family of four without a reservation. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious, looked amazing, and arrived at the table piping hot and fresh. If I’m nitpicking, I’d say the only thing was that some dishes, like the tandoori chicken and prawns, were a bit too salty for our taste—but that didn’t stop us from finishing every bite. My kids loved the BFC chicken, the butter chicken, and the cheese naan, which was to die for. Overall, an amazing experience—would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for great, authentic Indian food with a modern twist. P.S. Didn’t get to take a photo before eating because it was too good and we were very hungry

We were walking by looking to eat when a passerby overheard and immediately recommended this place so we gave it a go. This is an A La Carte restaurant nice ambiance stylish but in a relaxed setting off Bay street. Plenty of street parking spaces outside and near by. Seating inside and outside, table or high chairs at the window. We walked in with no reservation and was seated at the front window in high but very comfortable chairs with a view of the beach in the distance. We are two people we got drinks and ordered: Entre: - Chat Papti - Papadams - Tamarind Chutney - Mint yogurt Main - Basmati rice - Butter naan - Tandoori Roti - Butter Chicken We shared the food and can be eaten tapas style, we were not super hungry recommend ordering additional main dishes if you are hungry and need a full meal. Decent tasty Indian food, service is great. 10/10 I will dine here again.

It was such a great experience. Delicious entrees, especially the lamb cutlet and tandoori prawns. Followed by authentic Goat curry and Kadai Chicken. Ankit, the owner, recommended us great wine to start the entrees with. Sid, the bartender, knows his cocktails. Try the new cocktails “You’ve been bombasalled”, “ Bombay Matinee” and “Sidney’s favourite”, they’re the perfect companion for your curries. Moreover, the atmosphere around the restaurant is so vibrant, they play 70s, 80s, 90s, early 2000s and new music at the same time. I have never heard Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Elton John, Cher, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Harry Styles along with timeless Indian bollywood songs being in the same playlist at an Indian Restaurant before. Kudos to Bombay on Bay team. Keep it up :)
