Xiang Cuisine — Restaurant in Melbourne

6 ppl for dinner on a Tuesday night. Restaurant was empty and the young waiter was really friendly. Service went down hill after that with the waitress sullen, even when talking with my Chinese relative.

Food was prepared quickly and the tofu and minced pork dish, and spicy cauliflower stir-fry were delicious. The sweet and sour pork is fine if you like wafer thin pork slices with lots of batter, and the same for the salt and pepper fish. It was difficult to find the fish.

There was a loud argument coming from the kitchen for most of the meal which didn't help the atmosphere.

Overall it was a mixed result, with some fantastic dishes that would be worthwhile going back for if you can tolerate the poor service.

Pricing was low...

Food fair quantity. Special fried rice lacked flavour.... Im chinese.... 2/5 Beef noodle decent. Sweet side 4/5 Steam chicken prawn dumpling was juicy but lacked flavour and no hint of prawn 3/5

Service... We arrived 8:50pm. They said close 9:30. Served the food and no extra cutlery when sharing and no bowls or glasses for water. We had to ask for eveything was told to pay at 9:10. She did not seem happy giving cups at the end.

We understand it is the end of the day but being nice and offering cups, cutlery, bowls etc should be standard service.

Overall food.... Nothing special but decent quality. But can cook better.

I visited around 1:00pm 28 Jan. The receptionist was extremely rude and radiculous, I left straightrway and go to next door restaurant

I was shocked when I ask her politely in Mandarin how do I pay if I am not carrying cash, She answered” transferring.’’ Then I try to ask what account should I transfer to, she rolled her eyes onto celling and say ”你刚来墨尔本吗？！ (Are you just came Melbourne?! That made me speechless…

This woman stink out this restaurant! That’s why the restaurant is so quiet during lunch time.

For what reason, the boss need to keep such a patheic staff at you restaurant to ruin...
