what a lovely place! my partner took me here and we tried their lotus root with pickled cowpea, braised pork noodles, and tofu skin with garlic sauce. the wait staff were so attentive and kind, they gave us some delicious pu'er tea to start. They told us that we would have to wait around 15 mins for the noodles, which we later found out was because they usually only make it for lunch but made an exception for us! Which was very kind of them :') Even if they didn't have it available, there was plenty to pick from on the menu!! The lotus root stir fry was DELICIOUS.... the dark caramel used enhanced the nuttiness of the lotus root and made it incredibly moreish! the pickled cowpea added extra salt and a tiny bit of acid. I couldn't stop eating it and it inspired me to try making it myself (a work in progress). The tofu skin was pretty good, but the pieces of tofu that weren't at the bottom were a bit bland. The sauce was still very nice though and it was pretty refreshing! The noodle soup was also lovely, it was savoury and hearty. We got it with rice noodles and the noodles were quite soft but it was kind of nice to scoop them up and drink them with the soup as opposed to slurping them on their own. The pork was well braised and even though the broth was dark it tasted quite mild and comforting.
I'm very excited to try all their other menu items!! we will 100% be...
Read moreI have never seen a restaurant that treats customers so badly. They didn't take the food off the shelves and wasted my time, which I accept because you marked it was only available at noon. I ordered white rice and they told me there was no rice. I didn't ask you to give me rice. I just said I could order something else instead of rice, as long as it was about the same price. The older woman next to me kept saying no with a bad attitude, discriminating against people who ordered set meals. Then why did you put the set meals on the shelves? Why didn't you put the staple food on the shelves? If you don't order the set meals, you don't get white rice. Do you think that's humane? I've ordered takeout from you many times, but there are often various problems that require after-sales service. You make mistakes frequently for old customers who are allergic to onions. When long hair appears in the dish, you disdainfully say there are no women in the kitchen. You angered me and said it must be a new worker. I can guarantee with my life that there is hair produced by yourselves in your dishes. There is a thin layer on the surface. I even have reason to suspect that it was intentional. I often tell my husband that I dare not order it, but we think these two dishes have the taste of home. But I will never order it again in the future. I will...
Read moreWas not as good as expected after reading other reviews. Food was ok but nothing special. The fish head was steamed to perfection however barramundi is not the best choice for it and sauce is pretty much just the steam fish soy mixer that you can but from Asian grocery. The pork was undercooked , tough. Pickle turnip for the chicken is undercooked too, has no flavor just like a pickles turnip out from the package. More like a family meal cooked at home other than restaurant. Can not really fault any dish we had, but it just a bit not there yet. The service is better than the average...
