Update: Back again to this Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant. One customer was having couple of dishes we have never seen before and he told us it was Stewed Beef with Rice Roll and Dried Bean Curd, Bitter Melon and Roast Pork with Rice. We ordered instead Chilli Pork with Rice Roll, the above mentioned Dried Bean Rice dish and Dry Noodle with Stewed Beef. The Chilli Pork was a little sweet. Not spicy and tasted quite like the sauce in Heinz Baked Beans in Ham Sauce. The rice rolls were pan fried. The Dried Bean Curd etc on rice was tasty with very subtle black bean notes. Not a fan of the bitter melon though. The Stewed Beef noodles was very tasty with the noodles cooked just right, slightly chewy, not soft/ overcooked. 1st Visit: Found this place when we were looking for a decent Hong Kong Chinese feed. The reviews were good, so we decided to give it a try. Arrived at 7pm to find the place chockers with a queue. Luckily, we did not have to wait long as the patrons did not linger after having their food. Looking for dishes reminiscent of our trip to Hong Kong, we ordered Wonton Soup, Rice with Salted Fish and Minced Pork Cake, Sampan Porridge and Stir Fried Beef in Black Bean Sauce with Rice Noodles. The reviews were right - the wontons and particularly the broth was very good. Be prepared to wait about 30 minutes for the steamed rice dish. It arrived with a generous thick patty on the rice with a very scant salted fish topping plus a sweet soy sauce to drizzle. The Sampan Porridge arrived still bubbling, it needed seasoning and was loaded with mainly shredded fish cake (I think) plus some pork bits and cuttlefish. Nevertheless, it was a decent bowl of congee. The black bean sauce beef and noodles were tasty. The black beans were not over powering and the noodles definitely had the “wok breath” Ambience takes you back to Hong Kong, noisy but at a comfortable level where you can still have a conversation. On a warm day, well air conditioned.

SIMPLE HONG KONG CANTONESE STYLE RESTAURANT Niko Niko is a plain and simple Cantonese restaurant that serves up decent and well portioned dishes in a no fuss setting. Confusingly the restaurant signage is "Tung Wo" rather than Niko! The kind of place you'd happily go for a casual dinner, catch up with friends when all you want is good food and quick service. It is a bit noisy due to the lack of soft furnishings so if noise bothers you, maybe ask to be seated in the smaller section at the front which is quieter. Hawker-style or shared dishes on the menu and you get a huge complimentary jug of chinese tea. Soft drinks available but no alcohol unless you bring your own. There is a Dan Murphy liquor store just across the road. People with mobility issues will be fine as the restaurant is all on one even floor with no steps. Very close to Holmesglen train station.

This is definitely one of the best and authentic Hong Kong food cafe in Melbourne. Prawn wonton have 2 big prawns inside, super authentic baked Pork chop on fried rice, super authentic fish boat congee and also steam chicken feet and pork rib rice, just like in yum cha. They also have other menu, such as ma po tofo, creamy egg and onion on rice, sichuan beef. They recently renovated and many pretty wallpaper featuring Hong Kong streets and attraction. This gave their diner a feel of Hong Kong. Restaurant is huge, but due to COVID, they cannot serve too many dine in customers. Even takeaway also worth the trip. This restaurant located next to train station. Very convenient. Booking is recommended during COVID normal. Waiter and waitress are very kind and friendly. Food price is average. Hong Kong car noodle will be try next time :)

I was deeply disappointed about the service provided at the restaurant, I have been a regular customer for the past 5 years and have always given my respect to the staff and owner. However, it has all changed this time. I have asked for some ice (as I previously did and they had given it to me in the past without any issues) given my congee was boiling hot and it had burnt my tongue, the staff first refused and then the owner came and spoke to me in full cantonese despite she knows I don't understand a single word at all, she was blustering at me (there might be verbal abuses but I couldn't understand) and gave zero care about customer service. In addition, the fact that this whole time neither the staff nor the owner said "sorry that we couldn't provide you with ice" to make me feel like being treated as customer. I ended up going to mcdonald's across the road to get some ice, and I respectfully told the staff that you can't judge or decide how I eat my food at the end of meal. I have also filed a formal complaint at Customer Affairs Victoria regarding congee being boiling hot and restaurant has refused to provide ice despite my tongue...

This restaurant have most of the food in Hong Kong style restaurant, including dim sum, wonton noddles, tai pai dong dishes & milk tea etc. Unfortunately today wonton has sold out, so we just turn for dumplings noddles. It is great, the noddles and dumplings are 100% Hong Kong style. Some restaurant use the wrong kind of noddles in this dish but this shop done great 👍 Wish I can try their wonton next time. Another bitter gourd & beef with pan fried rice noddles is surprising me too. They made the rice noodles crispy enough even placing the gravy on it. The cooking skill (wok Qi) is nice. The snack fried spring roll is delicious. They made it freshly upon your order and the spring roll is really hot enough. You can feel they have use enough prawn inside and not mixing many other ingredients to fill the whole roll in order to reduce the cost. I love Hong Kong milk tea a lot, but the milk tea here is not very good. It's too watery and you can hardly feel the taste of tea. However, it seems the restaurant is using the Black & White evaporated milk which is what I really appreciated. Certainly...
