Zeit with Zaytoon — Restaurant in Melbourne

I honestly don’t know how this place is rated so well.. I called prior to arriving and let them know I will be arriving 40 minutes prior to their closing time to ensure the kitchen would remain open. We arrived to the place and ordered our food, the customer service was despicable, the boy threw the menus on the table and left. We ordered the Lebanese breakfast, vegetarian pizza and cheese on saj bread. They state that they sell saj bread however it is misleading as it is not the traditional saj. As we were eating they began to pack chairs on tables, we didn’t mind this. Before finishing our food they switched the lights off, the restaurant became dark. They talked amongst themselves in Arabic stating that ‘we are now closed’. They were hanging around the til waving their money around literally waiting to leave. Despite the stated ‘closing time’ it was rude and disrespectful. I will definitely not be visiting this restaurant ever...

⭐☆☆☆☆ Absolutely disgusted with the service. Went in for a simple meal and ended up in a ridiculous argument with the waitress. I ordered what was supposed to be a sausage roll, and what arrived was a hot dog wrapped in Lebanese bread — nothing remotely close to a proper sausage roll. When I politely pointed this out, instead of resolving the issue, the waitress decided to argue with me and insisted it was a sausage roll. I even pulled up a Google image to show her exactly what a sausage roll looks like, yet she continued to argue. To make matters worse, she also tried to tell me it wasn’t pork when it clearly tasted like it. The attitude and complete lack of professionalism were appalling. If you want to be disrespected and served something completely different from what you ordered, this is the place for you. Otherwise, save your...

Food and the coffee is always great here. Today (2/2/23), we ordered a take away coffee, a Zaartar veggie wrap with chilli and lemon and another item from the menu. The coffee made first and was piping hot and it took some time to drink it. We sat just in front of the order cashier waiting for our order. People who ordered food after us got their food and left. We waited some time, I then approached the staff member asking where our order was? #126. She looked around it was sitting on top of the bakers oven. We did not hear our number being called and at no stage staff asked if we needed anything. Whilst polite and friendly, staff members just need to be more proactive.
