Ishikiya Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Midland

Just had a very enjoyable birthday dinner for my MIL here. I had made a booking, and was told they would hold my table for me as I had been delayed by the weather.

I had a birthday cake that the young lad happily put in the fridge for after-dinner when I arrived.

Service from staff was spot on. The staff were attentive to know when you needed them and didn't hover over you either. Food arrived quite promptly, so we didn't have to wait long at all.

When the time came for the birthday cake, staff even put on a candle and initiated the birthday song. Small gesture that didn't go unnoticed and was very much appreciated.

One of the waitresses even offered to take a family photo for our table.

Food was definitely value for money, and the atmosphere was cosy and pleasant. I feel the food options were plentiful and enough, so you don't get lost on what to order.

Highly recommended, and I would definitely return back here again. Thanks for a very enjoyable...

A very lovely dining experience!

When an order my boyfriend took hadn't arrived, we asked the man serving us, it was rectified very quickly, and as his dish was served, it was given with apologies from him and the kitchen team!

And also, when an accident on the table behind me happened, it was dealt with promptly and the man serving our table was apologising profusely, even saying that it's okay I don't have to stand up; for context a large glass jug fell off the table behind us, and chance would have it, some water splashed on my back and a few chunks of glass landed under my seat.

I hadn't been to this restaurant before, but I was very excited to try a new place, and by the very positive day I had, I would definitely recommend this place! Lovely presentation on all the food; I only have a photo of my first dish as I was too engrossed with the rest of my meal to take...

It was my first experience to a Japanese restaurant....ordered Japanese lemonade original and strawberry flavour loved the strawberry flavour lemonade....for the appetizers we ordered lotus chips and tofu....the lotus chips were crispy and spot on loved them...but the tofu was dint have that flavour..... For the main we ordered chicken curry katsu bowl.... The chicken was crispy from the outside and perfectly cooked inside and was amazing ....but the curry lacked in flavour ....and we did order teriyaki tofu Bento which lacked in flavour as well... Overall I would say the food was okay ish.... But we dint like the service they weren't welcoming enough and the service was very late so was...
