Nice food, nice atmosphere, but the table service is terrible.
Was hoping to celebrate partners birthday but turned out really disappointing.
Entrees came out and only one drink. Was waiting on partners drink for about 10 minutes before ask in the bar where it was. The bar started frantically making it as the poor guy was obviously trying to do his best and keep up. So this drink eventually comes out. That was strike one. Strike 2 was we finished our entrees and the empty plates were sitting there for a good 10 minutes again before the waitress came out and offered to take them away but she still left 1 empty plate for some reason.
We then started to think about our mains and it had been about 20 minutes since our entrees had been taken away. This was strike 3. What was taking so long? Eventually we flagged one of the waitresses down who said “you’ve got everything right?”
We said no still waiting on mains. She then hurried off and got us napkins and cutlery on our table and then took them away again for who knows what reason. Then a different waiter comes over and says sorry about that and hands us back some new napkins and cutlery. So we assume food is coming and continue patiently waiting. Another 10 minutes goes by and we flag him down again and say where’s our food basically ? Like where are our mains?
He said he’ll go check with chef. He never came back, we waited another 10 minutes and then I called it and said nah that’s it. We’ll pay for what we had (the starters) and we’re outta here.
Went up to the front counter and said nah sorry guys that’s it. Don’t worry about it. We’ll pay for what we had. They didn’t seem overly bothered and made a half hearted “sorry you didn’t get your mains” and presented the card machine.
We reluctantly handed over 56 bucks for a couple of starters, 2 drinks and a long wait.
Staff didn’t try and say hey guys really sorry about that ya know. Listen, here’s a voucher or anything for your next visit etc. nothing. We just walked out and went to pizza cafe instead.
Sorry Tik Tek. Hate giving local businesses bad reviews but that needs sorting out. I’d rather you just say listen we’re really booked out and we’re sorry we can’t accommodate you.
Was really disappointing. Busy is great but don’t take on new customers and neglect them when you’re flat out. You’re better off just saying...
Read moreIf you have not had the pleasure of dining at the best Thai restaurant you will ever experience then do yourself a favour! (as Molly Meldrum would say). Chef owners Nick and Tek REALLY know how to cook Thai food. We have dined here twice and the Tom Yum is absolutely magnificent! In fact, all of the meals we have had here have been faultless. The wait staff are professional and friendly and the place offers excellent value for money. The interior look has softened but more soft furnishings will help reduce the noise level. Our only other suggestion would be that there's possibly too many floral decorations on the table. It gets a bit cramped -- particularly when sitting at a small table. However, these are very small issues which can be easily addressed. When in Mildura, don't miss an opportunity to eat here! I promise you will not be...
Read moreFirst time visit to Tik Tek and the only thing I am disappointed about is that it took so long for us to go, we will be back! Food & Cocktails were very good and excellently presented. Staff were friendly and informative. The Pad Thai was good, but was outshone by the other dishes which were amazing! The Beef Massamun, Lamb Shoulder Panang and the Chicken with Crispy Eggplant were all faultless! When ordering, the staff did warn us that specific dishes might be “a bit spicy”, they weren’t and I suggest this says more about the locals perceive spicy food than the actual spice level. I’m adding it to my list of local favourites and places around town that I...
