I dropped by the cafe this morning hoping for a simple breakfast and a cup of coffee, but what I got was a side of hostility with a hefty serving of rudeness. It seems the place has undergone a change in ownership, which usually isn't a big deal, but today it turned into a nightmare.
As soon as I walked in, I noticed the menu had undergone a major overhaul. Fine, I thought, I'll just stick to something basic like egg on toast. But no, apparently that was too much to ask for. When I mentioned I only wanted a takeaway coffee because I preferred something simple, the response I got was nothing short of shocking.
The lady behind the counter, who I later found out wasn't even the owner, practically snapped at me, saying if I didn't like the new menu, I could take my business elsewhere. Talk about customer service! When I politely inquired if she was the owner, she refused to answer and even had the audacity to tell me she wouldn't disclose who the new owners were. Then, out of nowhere, she told me not to come back. Seriously?
I tried to explain that I've been a loyal customer for years and even mentioned I run my own business. But instead of any understanding, I was met with even more aggression. And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, she accused me of being racist! Right there, in front of everyone.
Trying to smooth things over, I bought a bunch of flowers, but even that didn't seem to improve her mood. Instead, she had the nerve to tell me I wasn't a nice person and ordered me to leave the shop.
Needless to say, I left feeling completely upset and bewildered. It's a shame when a place you've come to love turns into a den of hostility and unwelcome. I certainly won't be returning anytime soon, and I'd caution anyone else thinking of stopping by to...
Read moreOur family of 5 just enjoyed a Mother’s Day lunch at this gorgeous cafe. It’s more of a restaurant than a cafe. The quality of the food is incredible. We had a lobster pasta, lamb rump, avocado on toast, wagyu burger and romesco sauce with sourdough and leek. My descriptions aren’t doing the meal justice. Every mouthful was absolutely delicious. The chef came out to check on the quality of our meals. We also had coffees and fresh juices. They then came out and insisted we tried two of their cakes - the carrot cake and their cheesecake. Customer service was attentive and kind. The atmosphere was cosy and warm. It’s our new favourite. Highly recommend a visit to this fabulous gem...
Read moreThird time back at Busy Bee Kitchen and I still love this cafe. I had the bacon and egg roll, the Korean nourish bowl, and the banana toffee pancake every dish hit the spot. The roll was cozy and perfect: crisp bacon, soft bun, silky yolk, just the right sauce. The nourish bowl was fresh, tangy, and super balanced crunch, heat, and sesame vibes. And that banana toffee pancake? Fluffy center, caramelized edges, glossy toffee, ripe bananas sweet but not heavy.
Service is warm, pacing is smooth, and you can feel the care in the cooking. Easy recommend. I’ll...
