Moss Vale Hotel — Restaurant in Moss Vale

walked up to register at exactly 2:36pm with my husband and 3 kids, on a family road trip from Sydney on a public holiday decided to stop at the Moss Vale Hotel, (I understand it's 6min past closing) wanting to place our lunch order was very rudely turned away "sorry kitchen closed" I was utterly disgusted at the way the lady spoke with no compassion at all, they were still cooking, the kitchen looked far from cleaned up, fryers definitely still on as meals where still going out, my kids would've been happy with a schnitzel and chips and my husband and I where looking forward to the beer battered fish and chips, I'm sure it would've taken 10-20mins of their time at the most and I would've been more than happy to tip them nicely instead have left me very frustrated and angry WORST EXPERIENCE, DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, RUBBISH...

I was there for lunch with some friends. We were very lucky, the table in front of the fire was empty so we sat there. There was no reservation sign on the table. We went and ordered our lunch and while waiting for our order the persons at the table next to us started complaing that we had their table. Said once was rude enough. They tried to get one of the staff to ask us to move. Then these very rude people continued to make comments about us being at their table the whole time we were eating. Horrible experience. Rude staff members, food is overpriced, incompetent management and chefs.. undercooked my fish twice, friend got steak that came out like burnt cardboard.. waited close to an hour for them to cook, staff refused to rectify so we just copped it. Loud, rowdy patrons yelling at horse races and football 5 metres from bistro which is not walled off. Dirty bathroom. Not sure how they attract patrons. . Beer tastes good, though - which is all it has going for it.

It used to be far better, but since they renovated it has actually gotten worse.. all in all, a massive fail. I recommend avoiding it and going to the RSL or Arygyle hotel, (which aren’t great either, but better than this place, which is saying something) .
