Enjoyed my dinner recently, the wholemeal roti was delicious as well as the Dhal I ordered. However, the service (or lack there of) was shocking and a real disappointment. Arrive to the restaurant with 1 other table taken and the rest of tables empty but full of dirty plates and cups. Staff member chatting to the people at the 1 table, then as if I was invisible heads out back, completely ignoring me. No one in sight for good 10min and I was on verge of leaving (but was hunger holding me there). Another staff member eventually shows up, fiddles behind the counter ignoring me for another 5minutes, finally comes to the table and pretty much tries to dissuade me from eating there by saying how very busy they are (1 table other table with 3 people otherwise an empty restaurant ?!?- and they did have 2 take away order pick ups over my time there) and how the food will take a very long time. I manage to order by negotiating what would be the quickest to make and proceed to sit down at one of the dirty tables only to be told that the staff is too busy right now and won't be able to clear the table for a while so I go and put all the dirty things from 1 table to one of the other dirty tables. The table is still has curry stains from prior diners but I ignore it. The food doesn't end up taking too long at all. I eat, pay and leave with all the tables still full of dirty dishes all around me. I'm not quite sure how the staff don't realise that when they come out to take an order, or bring an order, or bring some water out to the table, it doesn't actually take much more extra time to take a heap of dirty dishes back to the kitchen on each of those trips instead of walking back empty handed. It also doesn't take any extra time to briefly acknowledge customers and offer some friendliness when they arrive before heading back to the kitchen. The experience was unlike anything I've ever experienced. I honestly can't see how a business like this could survive. Some serious lessons in customer service is very...
Read moreA gem in Murwillumbah !!
After an enriching visit to the serene Krishna Village, my family and I had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant in the quaint town of Murwillumbah, which turned out to be a delightful culinary adventure. Each dish we savored not only spoke volumes about the chef's expertise but also beautifully represented the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine.
The Veg Pulao was a vibrant and aromatic masterpiece, a harmonious blend of Basmati rice, seasoned with a perfect balance of spices and dotted with an assortment of fresh vegetables. It was both comforting and satisfying, providing a taste of home-cooked warmth.
The Cheese and Garlic Naan was nothing short of spectacular. Soft, fluffy, and generously stuffed with a delicious mix of cheese and garlic, it was baked to perfection. Each bite oozed with flavor, making it an irresistible accompaniment to our meal.
The Jeera Rice, a seemingly simple yet profoundly flavorful dish, was cooked with cumin seeds that lent it a distinctive nutty aroma and taste. It was the perfect canvas for the other dishes, enhancing their flavors and adding a delightful crunch with every spoonful.
Lastly, the Malai Kofta was the showstopper. The koftas, soft and creamy on the inside, were bathed in a rich, smooth gravy that was a perfect blend of tomatoes, onions, and cream, infused with a selection of Indian spices. This dish was a luxurious treat for the taste buds, embodying the essence of North Indian cuisine.
Our dining experience at this restaurant was exceptional. The attention to detail, from the preparation of the dishes to the ambiance and the service, was commendable. It was a meal that not only satisfied our hunger but also touched our hearts. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem in Murwillumbah to anyone looking to explore the authentic flavors of India. A...
Read moreThis place has really gone downhill. It was amazing 2 years ago however now just gets progressively worse and worse. The staff really don't appear to care and are happy to let you wait over an hour for your food when telling you it will only be 20 minutes. The quality of the food also reflects this as well. UPDATE for your comment below; I suggest you look at your other unsatisfactory reviews below because many follow a consistent trend. I ended up waiting a total of 1hour and 20mins, also being told multiple times 10 more minutes, 5 more minutes etc. Some of the meals had also gone cold. This is on more than one occasion. Really doesn't matter to me anymore because I am done with it. I just hope you improve in this area so that others do not suffer the same...
