This is a small town Australian Chinese restaurant. Possibly the cheapest eat-in or takeaway you can get in the rapidly gentrifying town of Murwillumbah. (Gentrifying means, it's becoming a rich person's haven, if you didn't already live here, you probably can't afford to move here, unless you're already wealthy). The food is well above par for the price, the service is absolutely outstanding. This restaurant has had the same lovely couple as owners and one lady on the counter for as long as I can remember, And, THEY DELUVER, This in a town where there's no Uber, no Ubereats, no deliveroo, even the taxi service is fairly slack after 10pm on a weekend. I've been going here on and off for over 25 years. My go to is the combination short soup and the San Choy Bow. You can feed a single adult for $15 to $20, and less for a child. If you want to spend three or four hundred per person and then leave critical reviews on the food quality, then fine, go somewhere else. Amy and co, thanks for the great service and thanks for your food over the years. My kids are still amazed by the sizzling hotplates whenever we come to eat, and experience + fun is tops in our life. I see the odd negative review, good golly people, grow up, this place is cheaper than McDonald's. Did you expect Gordon Ramsay on the wok? So in closing, please people, expect to get a bit more than what you pay for, because this place will deliver exactly that. It's BYO, so bring a wine, come in, sit down with friends, order a sizzling plate and enjoy the atmosphere your great minds and...
Read moreWe rang this restaurant before placing our order and asked if they used MSG to which they said no. When we arrived to pick up our food we were then told that some of their dishes do actually contain MSG but assured us that the dishes we ordered contained absolutely no MSG. Of course the owner only mentioned this AFTER we paid for our order. I am allergic to MSG and immediately reacted when I ate only a small amount of their food. When we rang to ask for a refund and to notify them that I had a reaction the woman on the phone was extremely nasty and argued with us, refusing to give us a refund. They are very dishonest and deceitful. The food itself was also dreadful. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would advise those with food sensitives to avoid...
Read moreI’m sure really nice people but this has to be the worst Chinese we’ve ever eaten. We picked 5 dishes and they were all shockingly bad. The fried rice was either old or burnt and tasteless. The spring rolls were so thin (about the size of a thick pencil - the smallest we’ve ever seen) there was no centre filling and again it was over cooked, prawn toast was cheapest bread and sooo oily; the Singapore noodles was full of curry powder just inedible, the satay chicken was so bland, no flavour and every dish exact same - carrot and celery and LOADS of onion no other veges very boring. Felt like we ordered the same dish x 5 and it was all bad. My stomach didn’t like what I’d eaten either so no...
