2 years ago : This little hidden gem is sensational. Usually, with such an extensive menu, the food suffers, but this is not the case here. The BEST steak sandwich I've ever had, and this was a 'club' with bacon and egg and all the good gear for $14. The chicken 'club' sambo was also tagged 'the BEST' by the eater, and she's eaten a LOT of chicken things. Also, it was ridiculously cheap at $14, even if it had been just average, but this was TOP SHELF. Absolutely knocked over a chicken burger thing at an upper market cafe in Brisbane that cost double the price. The potato scallop was old-school delicious. The two ladies behind the counter were two of the most genuinely friendly humans I've come across. Obviously, it is known by locals because so many of the other diners were using names of staff, etc, and that's one of the best signs of a genuinely great eatery. This is all topped off by the fastest service for food prepared as it's ordered I've ever experienced. The WHOLE experience was AMAZING. The only small letdown was the coffee. Being Genovese coffee, it was either going to be ok or terrible. It was ok, suggesting the barista was good. But even good, not great coffee wasn't enough to reduce the 5 star review. 5/8/25 Called in today at the lunch death knell hoping to be granted leniency. The chef was cleaning down the counter, but gave me a menu. I just wanted fish and chips, takeaway. " crumbed or grilled" he asked. I like battered, so he acquiesced to my request. Freshly prepared, it arrived quite quickly and I was on my way. The chips, rectangular, long, super crispy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside and coated with the most delicious coating. Dipped in the tartare sauce certainly hit the spot. I figured the fish would be cool enough to eat one handed by now so I broke a bit off. Super thin, super crispy batter stuck fast to a large, thick fillet of what I reckon was barramundi. The sprinkle of lemon pepper took it to superb. The BEST fish and chips I've eaten in a long time.....and that was 2017, sitting on a table overlooking Loch Ness, in Scotland. I was about 25kms down the road and I had to ring and compliment the chef, it...

It is owned by Grant and Alison
Tikis Brunchery is my 'Go to' Cafe every day. I call it "My second kitchen." 🤣
The chef Grant makes magic with every dish that is on the menu. The flavours of the meals Grant prepares just explode in my mouth. It's like having a dance with my tastebuds. Grant also changes his specials, so there is always something different to have.
You would be doing your taste buds a huge favour by sampling Grant's cooking; he is a magician in the kitchen.
The coffee is delicious as well. Alison makes a beautiful and refreshing coffee, one of those coffees where I think I could have another one; and I do.
Alison is lovely, friendly, warm, and gives me the feeling that I'm welcomed every time she sees me.
The waitress Phoebe is also a lovely lady. She is friendly, helpful, and always happy to have a chat when it is...
Read moreTiki Cafe is a cool little venue that has lots of personality and charm. We slid into a booth and settled in.
The lady that served us was friendly and helpful, but I will say that the young girl assisting her was very quiet. I appreciate customer service can be daunting but greetings and small talk go a long way.
Our coffees were very good and the Raspberry & Coconut Slice was decent. We also ordered a small serve of fries which was excellent; crispy and golden on the outside, creamy and fluffy on the inside. One disappointment, however, was requesting extra aioli and being charged an additional $4. In my opinion, quite excessive and caught me by surprise.
Other than that, our experience was all positive. We enjoyed every aspect of the food and drinks and would happily return when next in...
