Some of the reviews on this page are ridiculous. If you want to know if any Chinese restaurant is good order the hot and sour soup. Yes it is sometimes a little chaotic ordering here but we’ve been getting takeout from this restaurant for years and never had a bad meal. Ever. And the hot and sour soup is great. Lemon chicken and Honey Chicken are great, the short soup is great. This is a great Chinese restaurant and takeout right in the heart of Murwillumbah and the food is cooked by a Chinese family not Australian chefs. Murwillumbah is lucky, we have a great Thai restaurant a great Indian (Coriander) a great Vietnamese restaurant, lots of great pubs and boutique restaurants, eve surprisingly a really good Dominos Pizza, and this lovely Chinese. I don’t mind it being chaotic or sometimes that they don’t answer the phone quickly or whatever, I’m just grateful we have this restaurant which also was one of the few places that continuously served the community all during Covid, quickly after the floods etc. If everyone hates it so much why is it always so busy and popular? Busy which always means the food is good. I totally didn't mind waiting for my dine in meal though if you're in a hurry get take away - it's cheaper and they appear to get their food faster. The Ho Fun Noodle was absolutely delicious, could not fault it. Shame the young girl on the register can't do maths. She didn't wait for me to dig in a pocket for a coin, then couldn't change $30.30 from $50.50 without putting it into the register again (there was a calculator on the counter). So I ended up with a pocket full of change. I know it's society but it wasn't a great end to what had been a great meal. As I left I locked eyes with a middle-aged woman waiting behind me, she couldn't believe it either. Would have been all stars otherwise.

Oh and I tried again a week later. Rang at 7:20 to order dine-in so that I wouldn't have to wait. I was 10 minutes drive away. Same girl told me they couldn't because they stop dine in at 7:30... like, huh? It wasn't 7:30 yet. It's a shame, the food was great but I just can't. Guess it doesn't matter as they obviously don't want my (return)...

Called half an hour before to ask about take away wait times and was told the wait would be 25mins making it a 6:45 collection. I ordered over the phone and arrived 25mins later to collect. Was told it would be another 20 mins because they were busy. I explained that this was why I called to inquire about wait times prior to ordering as I had small children with me in the car. They said that one more dish was waiting and wouldn’t be long. Went back in 20 mins later and it was still not ready and waiting on 1 dish. I am still sitting in my car 1 hour and 10 mins later and my children are now asleep in the car without having had their food order yet. Very disappointed, first time ordering and will never order here again on service alone. If I could give 0...
