Hmmmm... This is a difficult place to review.. To be honest, the food is fresh and quiet tasty. There is a good selection of traditional Thai cuisine. Mixed entre was good, but only good. Highlight are the fish cakes and Satay skewers.... Spring roll and puffs are meh!!! Phad Thai is good, but only good, and Green Peppercorn Calamari is amazing. The real issue is with the service and the delivery of the meals. Entrees came together... Excellent. Main,... Calamari came first... 5 minute, then the Phad Thai...but to top it off, we were finished our meals and about ready to leave when the Spicy fried rice came out. I suggested because we had finished that I might need a takeaway container. "Sure, they are 50c each" Haha... Sure... Why not??? Dishing it in to my 50c container, it was almost soupy. I have had plenty of Thai Fried Rice's previously, none ever this wet. Breakfast the next morning and the Fried rice was average... Less than average actually. Was disappointing... And I don't mind leftover fried rice for breakfast (usually). This one was wet... And generally unpleasant... Even the next day (when they usually dry out a bit). There's not much to choose from for Thai in Narooma...my suggestion... If you want Thai......
Read moreCame here for a 6 months anniversary dinner with my girlfriend, the food was somewhat disappointing. We ordered two entrees, roti bread with satay sauce (pretty average) and Thai Wing. The menu made the thai wing sound alot better than it was, claiming that it was marinated wings with a nice sauce. Chicken did not taste marinated at all, it was literally oven baked wings with some sweet chilli sauce on the side. Mains were pretty average but tasty, my girlfriend got the yellow curry with duck and I had the hot basil duck main. Lots of filler and not a heap of meat (but generally quite tasty) Dessert was not what I was expecting and perhaps is an acquired taste, black sticky rice with thai custard. Don't know what I expected but it was sickly sweet and made me feel unwell. Overall A decent dinner and better than some other places I've been too but would much prefer to go to Ocean Palace for an authentic asian meal. Staff were friendly and...
Read moreextremely hot inside. was sweating just sitting there. after finishing our entree, we sat with an empty plate for 25 minutes. we called the waitress over and she just stared at our empty plate and didn’t know to clear the table after we asked for our mains. we have gone many many times in the past but this was just the worst. satay noodles tasted like pure sugar and not a hint of peanut. the “iconic na siam ocean” was severely undercooked. the squid was mushy and slimy! i couldn’t bring myself to eat it. food has gotten plainer since last time, must have changed the chef. overall, waitresses were not trained properly, leaving many tables waiting for their food, cheap dining but you don’t get what you pay for, and a horrible atmosphere. will never be...
