Extremely rude "young boss man" behind the coffee machine Wednesday evening 4/1/23. His attitude was simply appalling. We asked the woman serving us if we could have a milk shake with vanilla gelato instead of the other ice-cream they normally use and said that we would pay extra for it. After asking her "boss", the response from him was so rude and abnoxious. "Only a few people have ever had that as we will charge you for a shake and a full gelato". A ridiculous price was then nominated by him to change our mind as it all seemed like too much hard work. The approach and attitude was bad form. As stated above we were happy to pay more....but not after he was so unfriendly, unhelpful and downright judgemental. We are not tourists who will only come once and not come back. We are locals who will be telling everyone we know that the customer service here is the worst in the bay. We have overlooked the unfriendly service before....and the no tasting policy as a covid thing....but now it all seems to add up to simply bad business. It's a shame that the owners have entrusted staff that have left such a bad taste in our mouths as we used to enjoy the gelato. We will not be...

Went in for an icecream with 4 friends. The icecream and service was very good. Gelato was great. I then saw they served coffee and asked for a "hazelnut iced late". The late was brought promptly to my table. I drank some of it and the syrup they used was so sugary and sweet it just overpowered the coffee flavour and tasted like it had 5 spoonfuls of sugar in it. I couldn't even drink it. I asked the man who made it how many pumps of syrup he put in it. He said 2. I highly doubt that. When I complained they offered to add more milk and coffee. I turned that down because it was already flooded with bad quality syrup or over strengthened syrup. I can't understand why they couldn't just make me another one without the syrup. The lady working there wasn't interested in giving me any 5 star service. I was very disappointed... go there for icecream but whatever you do don't ask them to put caramel or hazelnut in your ice late. You'll literally end up with triple the amount of sweetener than...

Some feedback to Neros management:

Not allowing taste testing is absurd and simply terrible customer experience.

Cash only for less than $10 is terribly inconvenient, who even pays with cash anymore?

Charging customers a 50c surcharge for non-cash payments

No doubt a 5 star experience for coffee and gelato/ice cream! Let’s start with gelato: I eat only sorbets and mango is a staple I have had in many artisan places before, mainly in Sydney. The mango sorbet here was brilliant 5 star - both flavor and texture. Lychee was very tasty too. My 5 year old loved the bubble gum flavor. Three flavors in one cup for $15 is a standard pricing for high quality gelato. Coffee: I drink only espresso, so nowhere to hide. Coffee here is excellent. Babyccino was served like my espresso even for a 2 year old in a proper ceramic little mug. Nice indoor seating, very polite and professional staff/great service. All together for $26 is fair for the quality you get. Will come again when I am in the area. Thank you!

This photo highlights it all...No taste testing despite the fact we bought two take away tubs ($30ea.). Ridiculous other requirements/restrictions like min $20 on EFTPOS when it’s an ice cream store, or I witnessed them charge a parent an extra $1 for another cardboard cup. Staff were pretty rude and didn’t have a good understanding of the product. Ice cream was average, but not worth the price point. Obviously the owners are quite greedy, and aren’t interested in promoting a strong customer experience.

What strikes me as most unusual is that this place was opened till 9pm. In the outskirts areas in Australia, most coffee and dessert cafes do not operate past 4pm. I wanted very much to try this after seeing the good reviews on them. I got a scoop each of Belgium Milk Chocolate and Rum & Raisin. Enjoyed it very much and I saw a steady stream of customers visiting even at 8.30pm when I was about to leave.
