We ordered the Chicken Schnitzel with extra Pepper Sauce and the Grilled Snapper Fillet, as well as a Carlton Balck schooner and a glass of Brydon Lions Sauv Blanc
It was unexpected to be located within a golf club when it was booked since we're not locals, and maybe because of the time we went, we couldn't even catch the glimpse of the Golf in action
The Chicken Schnitzel was huge, something I haven't seen anywhere for a very long time, the breadcrumb was very thin and the chicken was very meaty - highly recommended - unfortunately the sauce didn't come with it and I had to order and pay an extra $2 for that tiny dish, and there was small blobs that most likely been in the fridge and not freshly made
The Snapper Fillet was a decent sized portion but it was salty and dry. The potato side was soft, just a bit confused if it was meant to be crunchy or not. The salad was okay but I've seen better salad sides
Very unfortunate that the atmosphere was not what we were seeking, as we were basically surrounded by the older generation and younger wait staffs, and is similar to eating in a pub rather than a restaurant
Note that being inside a golf club, means you'll also need to sign...
Read moreOur group of 7 visited on the back of largely positive reviews, but it was probably wiser to pay attention to the negative reviews which I will echo:
The view is beautiful, but only if you are seated near the windows. We were one of the earliest groups to arrive with a booking at 5:30pm, and placed next to a play area with no view, despite having no children amongst us.
The food is a disappointment to say the least. I would avoid ordering the steak, which was a $45 "special" and came with a very meagre portion for a T-bone. The 3 of us who ordered all requested medium rare, but it was served rare which was surprising given the thickness was no more than 1cm. We decided to overlook that as the texture was fine, but by the end, the saltiness of the chips and pepper sauce made it difficult to stomach for all of us.
By the end of our stay, the restaurant was pretty packed and it was difficult to understand why. I would avoid this restaurant if you are in the area, as the issues are with food and not...
Read moreThe restaurant view is gorgeous overlooking the fairways. What a missed opportunity to pay more attention to the quality of the food. Ordered the lambs fry. Thinking I would get a simple dish of lamb fry with mash and some onion gravy relish. Firstly, the lambs fry was as dry as the sole of my leather sandals. Secondly the flavours were a mishmash. I had to dig for the lamb fry underneath a tall stack of bacon, mushroom and some kind of curry relish. Individual elements, the bacon and mushroom were cooked well, but I counted about 8-10 different flavours going on that plate! What a missed opportunity to prepare a simple classic dish. My husband had the chicken schnitzel, the quality (smell) of the chicken was second rate, must be frozen…?
Below average diner food at restaurant pricing unfortunately. Would love to see improvement, maybe consider a lot less menu options and focus on quality over quantity. Would love to come back,...
