The friendly staff greeted us at the entrance. Nice and welcoming staff. The atmosphere was pretty calm and settled. It was a good way to end off the day. It had nice decor and plates were laid out nicely. There was nice, “warm” lighting as well as some greenery scattered everywhere. In terms of the food, the calamari was excellent. It was the perfect balance of crispy and chewy but it was so good it melted in my mouth. It was really fresh! It was a large portion and as mentioned before, tasted excellent! We ordered 2 laksas, one chicken and one pork both of which tasted excellent. They even gave us chillies on the side! The laksa had a slight spicy taste which added a nice addition, but was nice and creamy. The fried rice was so good 😊. It was pretty average Thai fried rice but still was nice 👍. The noodles were a little bland but it was a nice lay-off from the spicy laksa. The flavours could have been developed more. I must say that this was a really good place to eat Thai food and whether you reside at Port Stephen’s or are enjoying a nice vacation; I highly recommend coming here for the lovely “everything” Food: 4.5/5 Service:...
Read moreMade an online reservation for dinner for 6 people. We arrived and had a table for just 4. Place was packed and yet they still accepted walk-ins. Hair was found in our satay chicken. We did not complain about it. Then a bug was found in tom ka soup. It was eaten and spat out. Politely told young male waiter who apologised. Manager/female (presumably owner) rudely interrupted, didn't apologise and was adamant it flew from outside. No access to toilets as apparently out of order. It was raining heavily and had to walk across to pub to utilise bathroom. Food was disappointing and chicken had strong odour. Order was reduced, without informing us, by person taking our order as apparently over ordering. We then had to order more. Sign cash only. Paid cash and no receipt provided (I didn't ask as it was a real effort [emphasis added] placing order). Certain beers not available, glasses short, lemon lime bitters not refrigerated...... Restaurant certainly over capacity and a health hazard. Regrettably we chose to disregard all the negative online reviews that we read. Will certainly be considering all online reviews...
Read moreBeing an early diner and obviously out of season there was no problems with the service, because besides ourselves, there was only one other customer until well after we received our main course. So obviously no problems with long waiting times.About the atmosphere I can only say it was quiet at that time. I was not impressed with the dishes I ordered. The satay chicken had no dark bits adding flavour from a chargrill and was also a little dry, not too bad though. The peanut sauce was nice enough but a bit unexciting, had a little heat, but not enough for my liking. The massaman curry was thinner than what I'm used too, a bit more like a soup than a curry. Also, the chunks of meat in it were too large for bite size and hard to cut down to smaller size, a bit tough for my liking. The flavour was okay, although I have had better. My friend seemed to fare a little better with his choices, but also was not overly impressed. All in all we left somewhat...
