I bought two chicken avocado sushi boxes 2.5 hours after they opened. Both were warm all the way through - rice, chicken, avocado. Proper sushi should never be warm that long in a fridge. It’s unsafe, and their claim it was “fresh” is nonsense. My pregnant girlfriend could have contracted Listeria, risking our baby’s life. I ended up in hospital with food poisoning from their so-called fresh sushi. When I said I just want a refund — and I said it clearly at least three times — their immediate response was: “Can we do a replacement instead?” The woman kept asking which part was warm, despite me saying all of it multiple times. They were willfully ignoring the problem and dismissing me. I had to raise my voice just to get my refund, and then they had the nerve to call me rude. Under Australian Consumer Law, I am entitled to a refund for unsafe food, no debate. Their inflated egos and refusal to accept they were wrong put customers’ health in danger. If you care about your safety or family, avoid this unsafe disaster. No professionalism, zero accountability, and a complete disregard for consumer rights.
Replying to Tam Tams reply to my review -Your excuse that you rely on a “display fridge” to prove freshness while pulling my sushi from a hidden, unmonitored back fridge is laughable—and does not justify the fact the sushi was warm and unsafe. Using vague claims about “other customers” not having food poisoning is a desperate deflection. You don’t go asking every single customer if they got sick—how would you even know? I spent hours in hospital hooked up to fluids because of your negligence. Denying my legitimate illness and gaslighting me with baseless accusations only shows how little you care about food safety or your customers’ health. Own your failures instead of attacking those you harmed. Also I’d like to add on that I approached and asked for my refund well mannered and I didn’t raise my voice and start swearing until you deflected and denied me my refund that I'm legally entitled to, I also didn’t appreciate the attitude and the foul looks coming my way like im an alien when all I said was “it is warm and I dont want it I just want a refund” If you granted me my refund without argument I wouldn’t have got mad hope this clarifies everything...

I heard from a few friends of Tam Tam sushi and decided to give it a try... and I was blown away. It is really authentic Asian food. It is a blend of mainly Japanese with some Korean influence but the taste is second to none. The food is really fresh and I have never had any problems. The staff are also super friendly and always have a smile on their face. Even after going multiple times they treat you with the same happiness and kindness as a new customer and I cannot speak highly enough of the owners and the team. I highly highly recommend anyone who would like to try some great food to go to Tam Tam sushi and I assure you you won’t be disappointed. Normally I wouldn’t even bother writing a review for any shop let alone a restaurant but this place is such a gem and Tamworth is so lucky to have this shop. I’ve been to Japan and the dishes at Tam Tam sushi are even better than the ones where I paid $200+ at sit down restaurants in Japan. Love your work...
