I ordered a Hawaiian Pizza and Chicken Pesto Pasta. I assumed they would know it was pasta because there was no chicken pesto pizza on menu?? I was happy to take the chicken pesto pizza instead because i am easy going and the waitress was apologetic but the chicken wasnt great it was like that filler 'chop chop' chicken, the pesto wasn't nutty or flavoursome at all and pesto normally packs a punch on flavour. Instead of some yummy spinach, basil, olive oil, cracked pepper or pinenuts it was topped with some sort of weird 1000 island or ranch type of sauce!!! It wasnt great, in fact i couldn't eat it despite attempts to scrape it off, it just didnt go with the flavour. Also ordered an italian salad which was nothing but mixed lettuce (mainly beetroot leaves) and olive slices, there were a few slivers of cucumber in there and some soggy red onion but not much!! Im pretty sure it was a bagged salad from Woolies. The Hawaiian pizza we ordered was for a kid and it had some sort of smokey sauce on it. Wasn't great either. Waste of $70. Could have done better at home but wasn't home. Very disappointing. Maybe they were having a rough night idk.

First thing I noticed when we walked in, was how bright it was. Full lights, no atmosphere at all. (Some down lights or pendants would make it a more charming place) The walls have wallpaper of Italian themes. The chairs are really nice and comfortable. Soft padded. It was full of customers inside, but too cold to sit outside (there is a covered patio style area out the back, where the pizza oven was going - probably good in summer? ) We got a table for 2 in the middle of restaurant. Service was ok. Not friendly, but not lacks either. Seems like new owners? Food was pretty good. The pork belly was tender with lots of kumara chips and salad. The arancini balls were good. 4 on a plate. We had one glass of wine (a small variety on the list) and a soft drink and the bill was $55. It was an fair night out. I think if there was an Italian competitor in the area, they may not have so much business. It lacks friendliness and charm. But the food was fair.

EDIT The manager called me the following day and replaced the meal, and explained the person I talked to was training. I would still suggest to check if you have any allergies to ask everything is check with the manager or chef as I noticed not everything is listed for ingredients on the menu, for example they used ricotta to make their gnocchi. The pesto pasta is had was nice. Previous reveiw bellow. I told them I was allergic to soft cheese. They told me their ravioli did not contain any. I ate 1 and called them to confirm as it didnt look right, first they told me yes it did and when I reminded them I was allergic and can not eat it they told me it did not. I decided not to continue to eat the pasta that cost me $26 and ended up very unwell from the 1 piece I ate. Photo for reference of what was inside the ravioli.

This evening me and my colleagues decided that we would treat ourselves to a lovely Italian dinner in a restaurant on darling harbour. Despite shakey reviews online we decided to give Olivo Italian restaurant a go. Unfortunately it very very quickly went downhill for us. We ordered three of the same dish, two without mushrooms. When the meals arrived we received two with mushroom instead. We said “sorry, we ordered two without mushroom.” Thinking perhaps we had been handed the wrong tables meals as mistakes easily happen and we weren’t bothered. However the reaction of the waitress was completely unprecended and embarrassing. She attacked us - accused us of lying - and told us to just eat. We followed up with the restaurant manager who offered a free drink. Which we would have happily accepted if it weren’t for this being based out of a food allergy. They reluctantly and rudely offered to remake the meal. However all of the staff started to swoop around our table, glare at us, and stood over us at our table. We all stopped eating and we were too uncomfortable to continue. Then we found the hair. A long hair embedded deeply into one of our meals. Given the attitudes of the staff we were weary to approach them with this. However fed up with our treatment we did. They treated us just as abismily as before of course, at which point we asked if we could just leave. Shaken, upset, and on the verge of tears, we left. We are all customer service professionals and business owners and we have never experienced intense discomfort quite like that before in a restaurant. Small issues which would have easily been resolved were snowballed by the intimidation and harassment...

I have eaten & ordered delivery many times from here. The food is decent but the quality has either dropped or I've just realised it was never that good. I ordered Ravioli last night and while nothing was dramatically wrong with the food, it just didn't taste that good. I rang up the restaurant and asked if they make their ravioli or buy it. I was dissapointed to find out they buy the ravioli. Wherever they buy it from(Costco?)does not make good Ravioli & the sauce was way too salty. Anyways just made me annoyed cos the Italian brand ravioli in Aldi is delicious, cost about $4 dollars a packet and I just paid $18 for store bought ravioli from a restaurant, why do they do this? Probably because they can get away with it. And it saves labor/money? There is no real competition in Qbn and they will most likely continue to get away with it. They offered a discount next time I order. And to their credit they had also done this last time when I received a lukewarm home delivered meal that was ordinary. I didn't take them up on the offer and decided I'm done with Villa Olivo. I imagined Gordon Ramsay going off his head at the chef & owner lol but I reckon this Italian restaurant will be around for a while as like I said, Queanbeyan has no other...
