Firstly, upon entering the venue, it was visibly VERY busy, and noone checked any of our covid certificates when we arrived, for any of the 7 of us. Luckily we are all fully vaccinated and observing the current rules but this leads me to wonder how many of the other patrons aren't?
Family dinner was planned for the tourist for the simple fact that they accepted dine and discover vouchers. As unfortunately some of us have found ourselves in a circumstance that requires us to budget a little more thoroughly, this was the main appeal of this venue. Our party of 7 all had our vouchers ready which clearly state on the vouchers redeemable 7 days a week. We got up to order and the man at the register pointed to a VERY small worded clause on their ',We accept dine and discover cards' sign that said monday-thursday. I'm sorry, but since when is a restaurant above the rules that mandate when a voucher can be used issued by the GOVERNMENT!? I understand this isn't the man at the registers fault, however I felt really disgruntled by this experience as nowhere was it visible that this was the case until we had already settled in, budgeted our dinner based on the fact we each had the voucher, and lined up in the 15+ person line to order just to be told we couldn't. Really tainted an otherwise nice dinner with family.
Patrons consider this a lesson if you're planning to eat at this venue, you will be in a venue where there is no enforcement of covid mandates, and unfortunately will have an overpriced mediocre steak that you can't even be compensated financially for if you're looking for a nice night out on...
Read moreRestaurant Review- Comfy place for a beer but the Food & Service was a let down. So; let’s break it down…
Atmosphere: * Really well presented, immaculately clean & and nice use of space. The décor really allows for a comfortable three colour tone experience and enough areas, tables and tvs to enjoy almost any sport you love with a schooner.
Customer Service: * Was a little underwhelming, not bad but not great either. It was lunch time with a few customers. We were greeted well and shown to our seat, ordering was at the serving counter in front of the kitchen. Customer service rep was nice and took the orders. Orders took about 20-25 minutes to arrive which was a long time to wait. We were asked after the meal which was nice, the rep bussed the table taking 3 of the 4 plates indicating they would come back for the other but didn’t come back.
Food (Why we are here): ** Order: Steak Burger with chips, Chicken Schnitzel with Chips & Salad, 250g Rump Steak with chips. Almost everything was over Overcooked! Chips: probably the best thing here, they were delicious and cooked perfectly Steak Burger: The steak was okay but the bacon was overcooked and the bread was average. Chicken Schnitzel: Overcooked and dry, it would have been very tough to eat if it wasn’t for the gravy. The Gravy was tasty. 250g Rump Steak: Was cooked very well and very tasty, worked really well with the gravy.
Overall: * It could have been an off day, but there there wasn’t many people there, so was disappointed considering the overcooked food compared to the...
Read moreEdit: The owner rescinded the offer made for complimentary meals and insisted that they were paid for (half-way through eating them).
I came to the tourist to take up on the owners offer of 2 complimentary meals in compensation for the horrible meals that I received prior. This was processed by the counter staff. The owner then approached the table half-way through the meal, asked to see the review and response in question and told us that he refused to honour the free meals, and told us that we needed to pay for them.
This is against my rights as a consumer, and while I have paid, I will be be filing a complaint with the Australian Competion and Consumer Commission.
Original review below For reference this was takeaway during lockdown 27/8/21, and I haven't eaten in-venue before. Bought from here on recommendation. Ordered over the phone the seafood basket, and beef sausages (ordered coeliac for a gluten allergy).
All of the food (with the exception of the fish, and the wedges) had clearly been precooked as it was over cooked, heavily dried out, and cold.
With no notice over the phone, the mash and vegetables for the sausages was removed (despite the menu listing as gluten free available and this person having ordered this from here before) and replaced with a sad salad.
Based on this experience, I was really disappointed, and would not...
