This is more like an observation and feedback . Went in at lunch time ordered the schezwan chiken dumplings very tasty but disappointed with the size and when I gave the feedback the staff said they are like starters ! I guess being in market town city this is how it will be I guess as the price was 15 dollars so I thought it will be a lunch type of portion. Took the kang pao chicken as takeaway much better portion and taste was also very authentic . The staff doesn’t come from hotel background I guess they just follow what we say they were not engaging enough to ask any questions or inform about the size of dumplings while ordering. Not sure the cooks hill kai fan is their sister branch but went there in November last year their portions were amazing and (I ordered Kung pao and vegetable in ginger garlic sauce) and food was also excellent . In fact I left this review on their page by mistake but I like their food and this kai fan in market town place I might not go if their staff doesn’t become engaging I think restaurants should hire people who want to work in hospitality like they are doing hotel management as they will be the brand champion for the restaurants . Best example is sticky rice Wickham amazing staff and service brew tales...
Read moreMy dad had been saying how good this place had been, and so I finally went with him only to have an absolutely appalling experience. Firstly, we brought a bottle of wine and were served soaking wet wine glasses that we had to dry ourselves with our napkins. Then the food came out, and it was only average. However the worst part was that we found NOT ONE but TWO dead bugs with our dim sums. The waiter looked embarrassed and I asked him to tell the chef about it after I found the second one (he didn't after the first). We didn't hear anything back, and when my dad went to pay all they offered him was a 5% discount and a can of coke. Please do not eat here, they don't care about hygeine or the...
Read moreOrdered the Red Oil Dumplings and they were completely undercooked — doughy, dry, and clearly not properly cooked through. You can see in the photos: the skin was stiff, pale, and tore like raw dough. It looked and felt like it had just been defrosted and barely warmed up.
We each tried one bite and pointed it out. The waiter told us “that’s just how it is,” but offered to remake it for softer. Until we heard someone in the kitchen shout, “They already ate two and still want a remake?” Unbelievably rude and unprofessional.
This place doesn’t seem to care about food quality or basic respect. Would...
