Lim's Kitchen — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

I really like Chinese food. Lim's kitchen was really nice. I did not get to meet Mr or Mrs or Ms Lim directly, but the Chinese food was very nice. I was surprised how quickly my wife and I received our food. There was a plasma television on, so my wife could tell me what was happening on the TV (Getaway). I couldn't see the TV easily because my back was facing the TV. This meant that during awkward moments in our conversation I had to turn around in my chair to watch TV. Mr or Mrs or Ms Lim should consider a second TV on the alternate wall so each person could watch TV without appearing too rude. Also the sign should specify if 'Lim' was a male or female or transgender or non-binary gender to avoid confusion. Then I would give 5 stars. This is a great establishment that puts up good quality food. So far as Chinese food goes in the lake Macquarie area, this is our go-to. Had changed hands some years ago but no real noticeable change in service or food, at least as far as I'm concerned. Eat in or takeaway. Not a huge footprint for dining-in, and at times you need to be ok with having a meal in plain sight of passers by through the large glass frontage. Although, there is a lovely lake view. This is not fine dining, this is comfortable and hospitable dining. Overall, if Chinese food and good service is what you're looking for you'll get it here. Good food, waitress and waiter both friendly and helpful . Accommodating chefs . Very accurate fortune cookies. First cookie said " keep moving forward" . Well I was walking home and it looked like raining so I kept moving forward. I began raining near the end of my walk so I had to run but still got a little wet. I opened another fortune cookie when I got home. It said " you deserve a rest, watch a movie" . How did it know ? It was quite a tasty fortune cookie so I ate another.
