Response to reply from owner: Yes Jarrod, I'm sure there are tradesmen working on it every week, but I can see from the water marks it's been going on for months. The ceiling is a health hazard, the mould needs to be removed as well as any plaster that can potentially fall in on someone's head. This hasn't been done, but I'm not surprised to learn ALH owns it. What a shame.
From your response, I gather that you know the food is rubbish and the smoke blowing into the dining area is an issue as it wasn't mentioned in your response.
This place is falling apart and the food is trash, ceilings are a workplace hazard that could collapse on someone.
The wait staff are lovely.
For starters, fix your roof, smelling black mould with a meal is not appealing, it's a health hazard and has potential to collapse on patrons.
The lowest IQ individual has placed smoking areas in such a way that everytime someone lights a smoke downstairs, it fills the bistro upstairs 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
The meat on the meatlovers pizza tasted fishy(not what ya want on meatlovers) or like it'd been in the freezer too long or freezerburn, was way too oily, I'm sick.
The chicken schnitzel's are the cheap, pre-made kind that come pre-crumbed, it was just gross. We're paying for CHEFS not people to reheat food at chefs prices.
The pizza had green stuff on the bottom, not sure what it was but judging by where the guy making the pizza was it could have been anything, perhaps mould from the collapsing ceilings 🤷🏻♂️
The glasses, like most pubs now come with free lipstick and dirt on them from the previous person as they haven't been cleaned properly.YOU HAVE TEA TOWELS AND EYES FOR A REASON.
Overall, it's a money maker, the owner hasn't spent $hít on it and it shows, it's just not enjoyable anymore. Sad because last time I went the food was great.
Still a good spot for a drink and you'll get free second hand smoke, whether you want it or not and a dirty glass.
The DOSA set-up is an absolute joke, they have a smoking area right next to the main entrance???? 🤷🏻♂️ And then meals can be served a couple of metres away...
Read moreCame here tonight (Friday night) at around 7pm with my partner and got ignored. We waited at the enterance by the table with the menus thinking we'd get someone come to seat us, got ignored. We went to the front bar area and got told we can sit anywhere and we will get menus coming to us. We sat we waited and nothing. The place was not full btw. My partner went up and had to get the menus, then we ordered and had to pay prior to food and drinks. We ended up getting our meal - both got beef - one sirloin and one wagu beef rib fillet - both steaks were not seasoned whatsoever and one was almost burnt / charred and another was ... hmm i can't say undercooked as it was Medium well (i ordered a medium-rare btw) but the outside i don't know what they did but it had charred/grilled marks but tasted like it was boiled - thats the best i can describe it. It was bad. The only good thing and the reason i didn't give this place a 1 star is the calamari. I had it as a meal topper for $7 and it was delicious. It comes with only a lemon wedge so no sauce or anything - but the calamari was great perfectly cooked. The drink was unfortunately also terrible - we got a "passion on the beach" and it was pretty much watered down orange juice. It lacked any alcohol or any other drinks its meant to have. $30 for watered down orange juice. I won't be coming back. Which is sad as i came here with friends in 2019 and it was great food and such a lovely atmosphere - staff back then were super nice and attentive and the food was great i still remember the wine and steak i had it was that delicious - so i dragged my partner here tonight but was thoroughly disappointed with the non-existent service and the food. There's a lot of better food and better customer service in Noosa for sure....
Read moreGood food, but you pay the "Noosa price" as always - usually a few dollars more for everything than in any other town. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff are very nice, though they're definitely understaffed at the bar whenever I've been there on a Friday night. So why 2 stars? And why do I never want to go back there? Simple: the glasses are cloudy... absolutely disgusting and never clean... I used to take in my own wet wipes to make the glasses clean and sparkle, but it honestly grossed me out too much to go back. keep in mind that this was a year ago, but the experience regarding this was constantly so bad that I simply refuse to return now.
If the water and drink glasses are covered in oils, water marks, mouth and lipstick marks (and I have to ask for a new glass every visit, with the staff members usually checking FOUR before giving me a "clean" one), then what else is also dirty? The plates? The cutlery? I shudder to think about it. A shame, everything was sparkling clean during covid, and then they stopped caring after the pandemic; like diseases and good hygiene suddenly stopped existing. Beautiful place, nice people, good food, but the management is clearly not on top of hygiene, so I won't go back.
Edit: Thank you to the Reef Hotel for replying to me. I don't know what to think; the glassware problem was persistent over many, many, many months last year (it was on the regular rotation of pubs that I took my dad to as a Friday night treat). All I can say is this: the problem was so bad for so long that I will never go back, and I still seriously doubt the effectiveness of the managements cleaning routine, because it was seriously so bad. Attend...
