The food at Mr Lim's was fantastic, but unfortunately, the service was appalling, and the website prices and menu were out of date. When we arrived at the restaurant without a booking at 6 pm, we were informed that they were fully booked for the night, and takeout was our only option. Despite there being eight vacant tables and seating at the bar, we understood that they were reserved, so we opted for takeout. The gentleman in front of us was also placing an order for takeout and was told it would be a 15-minute wait.

While placing our order, we noticed that some dishes we had in mind were not on the in-store menu, and the staff was rudely dismissive when we asked about it with our phones on the website. Moreover, the prices listed on the website were out of date. While menus and prices can change quickly, it would be better for Mr Lim's to ensure their websites are kept up to date, given they have four sister restaurants.

The man in front of us got his food in about 20 minutes, but we waited for quite some time. We saw others come in looking for a table without reservations, some even opting for takeout as well. The wait dragged on for an hour, and we had no communication with the staff even as I stood by the cashier. When we enquired, we were told it would be with us shortly. When we finally got our food, we had to go get some instant rice as we ordered two servings of rice but felt like we received only 1.5.

This was my first visit to Orange, and although the food was good, it took an hour to get it. Additionally, we had a really unpleasant time trying to order takeout. There were still five empty tables when we left at 7.20 pm, which was frustrating. I was hesitant to leave a negative review as I enjoyed the food (the Pan Asian flavours were intense and on point, especially the slow cooked chicken), but this feedback is warranted. Mr Lim's should improve their service and ensure their menus and prices...

It was absolutely amazing, I went there for my mums birthday and we had the "let Jackie feed you" and it was brilliant! The sauces were beautiful, we wanted whole bowls of them. We got the poached oysters, they had spring onions on top with a gorgeous sauce give it 8.5.

The wontons in sauce were great, had actual chunks of meat instead of just purée. And while not being the highlight of the night certainly weren't a downfall, giving it 7.5.

We then got the San choi bow, the pork was DIVINE, was worried about the fat on it but it legit tasted like heaven, suggest you keep the sauce from previous dishes to drizzle on it, rated 8.5

Next was the KFC, Korean fried chicken. This and the next dish were the highlights of the night. This spiced chicken was phenomenal, tender and flavourful and also had incredible substance to it. Easily giving this one 10.

Lastly we got the drunken and drowned duck. This also was ridiculously good, sliced, tender duck breast in another amazing sauce. Garnished with a cinnamon stick, star anise and orange. This duck was melt in your mouth and oh so juicy. Make sure you eat the orange slice on the plate! No doubt about it, this got a 10.

To finish off the let Jackie feed you, we were served rice and green vegetables, once again in a beautiful sauce.

Then we got the black sticky rice for dessert. This was next level, covered with coconut shavings and milk. I...

Although the female manager was a delight and the food fresh, the male owner/manager was unpleasant and this restaurant struck out with us three times. Firstly, even though we had a reservation and the restaurant was half empty, they tried to seat us at a tiny table right under the kitchen serving window, where plates are constantly being passed out overhead to wait staff. Secondly, being vegetarian, (we had checked online for suitable meals) we were told our first three selections were not on the menu that night. We were unimpressed to find the pork and green bean chili stir fry we requested be adapted-by removing the pork and adding tofu or other vegetables- came as beans and shallot rings, no other vegetables, but we were charged the FULL pork and bean price for what amounted to beans on the side. Thirdly, they told us their liquor laws required us "to consume purchased wine on the premises" and we could not cork and take our unfinished bottle of wine with us. This is in fact against the liquor laws and we did not comply. We do not recommended...

Take away meal. Scallop dumplings were delish with 4 to the serve. Fried rice was nice with generous serving of egg tossed in. Mr Lims interpretation of scotch fillet was cooked to perfection with the steak melting in your mouth, the mushroom sliced & diced in large portions which enabled their flavour to be enjoyed whilst the accompanying onion whilst wedges in size was crisp and proportionate. Steak & onion what a pairing. However, the surprise dish was the minced pork with green bean. Wow... what a dish... the pork was cooked well with onion & shallot with the beans crisp & tasty. This dish had a bit of heat not overpowing but leaving the taste buds tingling making this dish the one to end the feast. Meals were good in size however if sharing ensure the one your sharing with has no appetite. Whilst waiting had glass of Phillip Shaw merlot which was pleasant to the palate.

I wanted to rate the food a 5 but the menu about a 3. I understand the logic behind having a smaller menu but there is so much that can be made from korean that we travel to orange just to eat, especially here as you don't get the experience the atmosphere and service anywhere else. The price for food was questioned by the people I was eating but soon changed when they ate the food as i do believe it is worth the price. The bossam was amazing. Tender, seasoned well, the sauce and vegetables were fresh and delightful. Fresh ingredients beautiful prompt service despite not many in, as we were in early. I will come back everytime, Tteok-bokki would be a great addition ;) the amount of flavours you could do would be amazing. Cheese corn? Those sorts of things I do not see often but would definitely eat if served here. Thanks team! Will be back everytime we are in town 🥰
