My partner and I visited Washington and Co from out of town. I had expected big things from the team, but left disappointed.
It was a busy Saturday night, and there were a large group of people (6+) waiting at the door. We were only a table of two, and there was a table for two available near the door. After some time, some patrons left, and the staff member at the door let six young men through, saying that theyâd all have to sit separately as there wasnât a table of 6 available, and that they âbetter be goodâ (as in the men needed to be on their best behaviour... I assumed they could have been his friends). The staff member then came out and, without it even properly greeting us, said we could had to either wait, or go somewhere else and come back. We decided to wait, and a few minutes later another staff member signalled us from behind the bar to come in. When we did, the first staff member told us we couldnât come in, but we told him that someone else told us we could.
When I went to the bar, it took a while for the staff to acknowledge me. Some were preoccupied making cocktails, some were talking to friends standing at the bar; just a simple smile or âweâll be with you soonâ would have been enough. We were seated near the door, and were pretty uncomfortable overhearing some of the staff interactions with customers coming in. One lady came in and asked if there was a table of two available, and a staff member abruptly said âcan you sign in at the door?â She then repeated her question. The first staff member we interacted with was handling a small group outside, telling one middle aged lady that her and her group needed to be patient.
For such a busy Saturday night and such a small venue, I think that the staff need to be a little bit more organised (and polite) with managing available seating, signing in at the door, and also whether they prioritise tables for smaller groups that can actually fit, or for groups with potential behaviour issues that would have to sit separately regardless. I get that busy nights in hospo can be stressful, but I think it would have made everyoneâs lives a lot easier if the staff treated their patrons with a bit...

If you like delicious alcoholic beverages then i honestly cannot recommend this place any higher!
The manager/owner Felix and his staff were the most hospitable and friendly people around and the drinks we consumed could not have been more enjoyable
What a place, what an atmosphere, what an absolute gem of a bar! If you know what's good for you get your butt in here for a beverage or several dozen!
May the universe bless Washington & Co and may you all drive here non stop from wherever you live for at least one magnificent drink once in your life! It will be worth it and...
Read morePlace is incredible. Have been coming for years but recently around 830pm the music turns away from everything the vibe prior was. If we wanted to listen to ke$ha and Rihanna we would be waiting at any of the other pubs that have generic Playlists.
What makes this bar great is the staying away from pop trend norms and being aggressively what it is.
We don't need macklemore with our INCREDIBLE COCKTAILS. I don't want to drink whisky with whilst hearing about the pros of thrift shopping.
Keep up the great work. Change the...
