I really wanted to like this place — I’ve had a few good pastries here before — but my recent experience was honestly pretty disappointing. I ordered a small hot chocolate for $6 and was told it would take 5–10 minutes to make, which surprised me since it was 12:30 PM and I was the only customer in the store. The two staff members seemed unsure of what they were doing and honestly came across awkward and unprepared, which immediately made me feel a bit uncomfortable and confused. After waiting 14 minutes (again, with no other customers in sight), one of the staff finally brought out my drink… but managed to spill it on himself and the floor. He said “ow” very childishly and walked back inside without saying anything else. At that point, I assumed he was going to remake it — but after 5 minutes, he returned with the same cup, now with a thick layer of cocoa powder dumped on top, and said, “my bad” as he placed it on my table. It genuinely felt like I was being served by a toddler. The presentation was messy, and the whole interaction felt careless. To top it off, the hot chocolate had a really strange taste — almost like Kalamata olives — definitely wasn’t worth the $6 I paid. It’s a real shame, because the pastries here can be nice. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but it left a bad impression. Photo shows exactly what the hot chocolate looked like when it was brought out to me. Super comical to be worth $6.

Had one morning in Perth and was hoping to get some yummy pastries. Saw all the usual recommendations online, but the wife wanted to try Teeter out. Unfortunately left a bit disappointed... We got the Kouign amann, a pain au raisin and a morning bun. The Kouign amann I will admit was really good. Nice crunch on the outer layers, and buttery and textured inside. Good stuff! The pain au raisin looked good on the tray, and the pastry itself had good lamination, nice layers. But unfortunately, it was very generously coated in a sugary glaze. This made the pastry cloyingly sweet, and it ended up tasting like a cheap mass production item. Very unfortunate, as I'm sure the pastry would have been lovely just as is. The morning bun also had an (in my opinion) unnecessary addition. Of all the morning buns I've had/seen, this was the first one that was filled (to the brim) with a cream that again took away from, instead of adding to the pastry. I was unable to finish the latter two pastries (I've never left pastries unfinished before). Nice quaint little shop, and I'm sure they strive to produce top quality products. Perhaps their takes on those bakes were just not suited to me?

Teeter Bakery is a charming spot located slightly out of the way, but well worth the visit. The shopfront is small and simple, offering only outdoor seating. While the setup is basic, it’s perfectly adequate for a quick coffee break. Alternatively, a nearby park provides a pleasant setting to enjoy their offerings. The menu impresses with its seasonal variety. During a recent visit around Christmas, the bakery showcased delightful fruit mince pies and other festive treats. Savoury options are available too, including fresh baguette sandwiches during the week, catering to a range of tastes. The pastries are undoubtedly the highlight. With a wide and unique selection, some of which are rarely seen elsewhere, the bakery’s creations are as innovative as they are delicious. The pastries themselves are flavourful and well-crafted, with a complex taste that reflects the bakers’ expertise. The friendly, laid-back staff add to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Though the seating is unpretentious, the combination of excellent food, good coffee, and the option of a nearby park make Teeter Bakery a great spot to visit. It’s an experience that pastry lovers won’t want to miss.

Niche, unique, quality. As a foodie this is one of my favourite bakeries because I think they have the best savoury tastes- their quiches are the best I’ve ever had and their food is done well yet maintains a homely experience that relaxes me. Food is kept warm and I appreciate the depths of textures & flavours delivered I don’t get at other places. One of the best all rounder with enjoyable sweet and savoury options. Regarding their sweet bakeries- certain cakes I think are some of the best but I can’t remember the name of one of their cakes which had- it had this very burnt bitter topping (just that part I didn’t like) with a fruit on top- I suspect that might’ve been a faulty one because the either was so bitter I felt it was inedible and I love bitter stuff- No matter the majority of the cake was so good I would love to buy it again. Their genmaicha is really good however they fill the cup to the top with ice, and I would prefer their large cups to be bigger. I asked for less ice onetime which he agreed to, and it was still filled to the top unfortunately. The owners are lovely people and I’m grateful for their business.

Edit: I highly recommend their yuzu financiers! They also make yuzu marmalade which contains actual yuzu flesh. Yuzu lovers. Definitely take their advice on bringing your own takeaway containers, because it’s the best feeling ever when you buy some and eat their quality food the next day still for breakfast. The tastes and textures don’t change as much as some other bakeries- so you can enjoy at home with whatever...

Having heard good things about this place I finally was able to salvage a morning to visit this quaint little bakery. Upon walking down the street, smells of butter and caramelised goods flood my nose. Good start.

I walk inside and am greeted by slices of heaven, flaky pastries, cloud-like cakes, cookies, brioche rolls. All on rotation, all seasonal; items change every week so trust you won’t get bored (there are constant staples, of course.). An embroidered sheet of fabric hangs behind the pastry counter, separating and masking the kitchen behind, where the magic happens.

I was also greeted by smiles, the customer service was efficient but also warm and welcoming.

All things ordered were of exceptional quality, i’d argue some of, if not, the best in Perth. Standouts include the olive oil - mandarin chiffon - the herby fruitiness from the oil matches perfectly with it’s sweet citrus counterpart. Viennoiseries deeply caramelised, an ideal amount of layers, definitely NOT dry or “overcooked” as mentioned in another review - if you like a pastry WITH flavour that is NOT soggy, please ignore that single review.

One of, if not my favourite items however is the pork + fennel + apple sausage roll with the chilli jam. I don’t want to ‘overhype’ it for you, but it’s possibly the best sausage roll i’ve ever had (get the jam please).

After visiting a lot of (if not all) bakeries in Perth; I can safely assure you Teeter delivers in all it’s promises, and does not disappoint.

No photos taken as items were consumed too...
