Quaint little cafe near Claisebrook station. All profits made by the cafe goes to Youth with a Mission Perth and is staffed by volunteers!
Location Quiet street, with plenty of street parking.
Ambiance Cool and Chill environment. Walls are painted black with tall windows to let in natural light, and with a slight interior industrial look.
Cleanliness Good, Utensils are clean and the tables are not sticky!
Food we had
Scrambled Truffle Egg - The eggs are soft and fluffy. However, the mayo in covering the toasted bread was a bit too much and was overpowering the truffle taste. Overall an average scramble egg on toast.
Pulled Lamb Toastie - The pulled lamb is soft, and perfectly compliments the with the swiss cheese in it. The jalapenos gives a nice spicy aftertaste that leaves you wanting to take another bite, and another bite after that. It comes with a fried egg that is thin enough to prevent the middle contents of the toastie from spilling out the sides. Highly recommend.
Persian Love Cake - If sugar is love, this dish is swelling with lots of love with a hint of middle eastern flavors. Comes with a caramelized peach with a sweet crunch that is not overpowering. The almond cake is extremely sweet, spongy and soft, and the panna cotta is soft and fluffy. Nothing special if each of them is eaten by itself, but when eaten in the same mouthful, it transforms as the panna cotta balances off the sweetness of the almond cake, and the peach provides a solid base for the mouthful. Recommend for sweet tooths.
Value This is one of the cheapest brunch places with a decent serving and menu selection that I have had the pleasure of experiencing....

I’ve heard of Cafe Leadman when they first opened in October last year but it was not on the must-visit-now priority list for me. Their signature truffle mi-goreng sounded cute and tailored for hipsters. Frankly, I was skeptical of how good the food offerings would actually taste.
Fast forward one year later and on a Saturday afternoon where city parking was hard to find (we had gone to three venues prior where everywhere was either closed or we couldn’t find parking - no proper research tsk), I suddenly remembered this cafe which I had always wanted to try yet put off at the back of my mind. The cafe is located at such a quaint, hidden spot that my friend expressed skepticism - “Are you bringing me to Holland?” One hour later, said friend was asking me to delete my insta stories so that it could remain ‘hidden’. But dude, they’re really well-known, I’m already quite late to the party! 😂
Free parking (score!), beautiful wooden and glass panelling details, friendly smiles and smooth, creamy Brazilian bean coffee (beans from Laika; I had mocha) - oh, trust me - just put this on your must-visit-now priority list already. 😉
Tip: get there early or after their super busy period (We went at 1:15 pm and got a table straightaway) as they only have 18 seats indoors. Alternatively, they offer outdoor seating on the grass (BYO blanket or mats) and are pet friendly too! I love the soft throw hung casually...

Their menu changes regularly, so, looking at photos on Instagram wouldn’t exactly help, unless you’re looking to try their signature Mi Goreng dish! At $6.50, one might think it’s expensive for some packet Mi Goreng. Except, it has been perked up with shiitake mushrooms, sous vide egg and truffle oil. Nice flavours and well cooked (instant) noodles!
Also ordered the chicken & wild rice, cold soba noodles and the truffle scrambled eggs. I would highly recommend trying out the scrambled eggs... perfectly cooked with a subtle truffle aftertaste. Chicken was tender and the gravy with the wild rice was super flavourful. The soba was a little strange for me. The menu seemed well price for the portions as well as the quality of the food.
Coffee was alright, but soy milk was over steamed. Alternative milks... complimentary!
Great location. Quiet and cosy. Great customer service. Plenty of street parking. The cafe is small with tables with up to 4-5 seats maximum. Would definitely return to try their other menu items! Keep up...
