Jungle Fowl — Restaurant in Port Douglas

Food was great! A little pricey - we ordered 4 entrees, a main, and two soft drinks, came to $170. Yellow curry was very spicy, this was not specified on the menu. We were actually advised to order 2 entrees and a main to share. When we ordered a little more, staff got funny. We asked for two servings of rice and were told that we should only get one. We insisted on two. When the main came out, they only brought one serving of rice. They mentioned there were two servings on our bill and asked if we definitely wanted the second one. When we said yes, they were hesistant to bring it out and thought we should see how we went with the first bowl. Meanwhile, there were two males sitting next to us, who ordered one bowl of rice, and were offered a second bowl by staff The owner was walking around and making conversation with pretty much every table around us, except for us. We asked her for the bill, she brought it to us, and only asked if we wanted to split it or pay together, and if we wanted a receipt. She did not ask how the food was and there was no conversation of any sort. Jungle Fowl is a restaurant that offers good food with a nice aesthetic and vibe. I visited this restaurant recently and was impressed with the quality of the food. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the dishes were prepared with care and attention to detail.

However, while the food was great, the portion sizes were a bit on the small side. I felt like I was left wanting more, especially considering the price of the dishes. That being said, the quality of the food was good enough that I would still recommend giving it a try.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant. The decor and ambiance were on point, with a nice blend of South East Asian and contemporary elements. It was a comfortable space to enjoy a meal and spend time with friends or family.

The service at Jungle Fowl was also excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. Overall, I had a nice experience at Jungle Fowl and would recommend it to others who are looking for a unique and enjoyable...

Beef Bao Bun, beef brisket, pickle, spring onion $14.5 each Wow what a surprise. Delicious brisket succulent with just a hint of spice. Good crunchy pickle all in soft almost melt in your mouth Bao Bun. Very very yummy.

Pork Belly, sticky caramel, coriander $35 with added Jasmine Rice $7 Oh my gosh pork you had me at oink. Soft melt away sweet sticky pork with skin that is almost crunchy but more sticky crunchy if that is a thing. Thank you to my waiter who recommended. The sticky sauce with caramelised pork and squeeze of lime is just sensationally delicious. Slight bit of chilli goes perfectly well with everything as do the few peanut garnish. Mopping up with rice so you get every flavour possible is just awesome fun. My taste buds are having a blast. Near the end a small piece of pork was let’s say over caramelised. A small price to pay for such a delicious dish. Of course I ate too...
