4 Mile Beach Lookout — Attraction in Port Douglas

Beautiful place, it is on the highway so drive with care! The stone stacking that has been done there is what gains it's attraction and adds to the view, the man made illustrate elements against mother nature's way of placement is pleasing but also mesmerising. I would have to say, this has taken talent, time and effort so please if you DO go near the pillars please be careful but quiet as many as arriving and departing to get their picture and not to destroy the art....

4 Mile Beach lookout can be accessed from up the coast via little cove or from 4 Mile Beach car park. The car park offers the closest point to the lookout platform and is only a couple of minutes walk. Once at the platform you are presented extensive views of the ocean and the beach. I consider this lookout to be the best in Port Douglas and a must when in the area. Great for the photographer or those looking...

Nice lookout over the long 4 Mile beach to the south, with an easy boardwalk and stairs up from the beach. It is a nice view, especially at dawn or dusk. It's worth the walk, and is of course free.

You can also get to it by taking a long, residential road (no parking, just walking) that is up the hill above the town of Port Douglas, but I would go from the beach. The road walk is not...
