When planning a getaway and the following requirements are on your list, then Macrossan House Boutique Apartments is a must: quiet, heated pool, great location, central and convenient with easy access to everything, spacious rooms that are spotlessly clean, with fully equipped kitchen ( these are serviced apartments) modern, have a balcony, ceiling fans, air conditioning or both, aesthetically appealing, affordable and very comfortable, laundry, parking, then look no further Macrossan House is the ONE!||On site managers, since 2019, Jo & Gary and Tilly ( new resident dog) are very professional, accomodating, hospitable, as well as very personable, delightful hosts and persons who are up for a chat, always smiling and happy to help with anything and everything big or small. Nothing is difficult for Jo & Gary and both are very knowledgeable and informative with recommendations for tours and activities and accordingly book tours as requested( on site tour desk) ||The first time I visited Port Douglas was in 2011 and stayed at Macrossan House, since then it has become an annual occurrence. Aside from one year whereby due to late decision / short notice, I had to seek alternative accomodation which ended up being a highly rated location also situated on Macrossan Street. It never came remotely close to the quality and standard of Macrossan House which is best summed up as a hidden gem. Spent the weekend in Port Douglas for a family get together. We booked 4 rooms & we were completely wowed by the standard on offer across all aspects of this wonderful business. The one bedroom apartments are well layed out offering a self catering option, large lounge, lovely balcony with views of the range (top floor). The pool was immaculate & we took full advantage of it to cool off at many times throughout the day. The owners & staff went out of their way to make sure we were well informed & could enjoy all attractions the town was offering. Can not beat the central location. We will most definitely be back. We are regular visitors to Port Douglas and have tried quite a number of accommodation options. Macrossan House is amongst the best.||The location is central to everything. Even though it's the middle of the village it was very quiet. The room was a good size, clean, bright and comfortable. The host, Jo, was friendly and informative (we didn't get to meet Gary as he was busy behind the scenes). We arrived well before check-in time and early access to the room was no hassle at all.||One of the good things about Macrossan House is that there's live-in onsite managers who take pride in what they do.
