As a tourist from a foreign country, I'd say that this store compared to other Australian stores I have been to, is great - perhaps fantastic.
In other stores, I was treated with poor service and low food standards. Expensive food that tased bland. What's worse is that those stores had a 4.5+ star rating. I believe that N17 Burger Co deserves a rating around 4 stars.
When we entered the store, we were greeted by friendly staff. We were allowed to sit anywhere we wanted. The staff was friendlier than other stores.
I, myself, ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger along with an Oreo 16oz Oreo Thickshake. (My family members ordered other meals.)
The flavor was outstanding compared to other similiar priced and similiar rated stores. The Thickshake was indeed very thick and sweet. The beef burger patty was very large, larger than McDonald's.
I'd say the price is okay. Considering that Australia has higher service prices and tax compared to in Japan, I'd say that it is decent.
Moving on, the environment was great. One issue though, was that sometimes there were flies that were bugging me. I did not want to bother the staff as I knew they would not be able to remove all the flies. Perhaps the door could be closed rather than always open? It's environmentally unfriendly to keep the door open and have the air-conditioning constantly open.
Summary for those who do not want to read:
• Great environment, though there are flies, sometimes.
• Friendly staff
• Decent price, 20-30AUD
• Great taste
• Good for sports lovers

Read moreDisclaimer; before I get into my review (because of the responses) I should introduce myself. I’m a foodie from Melbourne. Our food culture is second to none, and the home to some great eateries. I also jumped on the burger trend when it blew up in Melbourne in 2014. I’ve had countless degustations from many restaurants and wineries - so to set some context, I review with meaning.
Firstly, a good selection of burgers. The menu has a lot of variety. However, the burgers we had (the N17 house special) was bland. The meat was overpowered by the other elements in the burger (you couldn’t even taste the patty) and trying the meat separately, it was dry and under-seasoned.
The chips were pretty average, nothing special. We considered the cheese sauce, but for $4, we thought it was a bit much.
The onion rings? They were actually great! Well seasoned, good batter and not oily. Tasty in-fact.
We also had the “Best Milkshakes in Town”. I’m not sure where the second best milkshakes in town are, but I’d sure like to try them. By Melbourne standards, these were average and nothing to jump at.
The sever who took our order also forgot about our milkshakes, so that’s a deduction on the review from me, for a simple mistake.
All in all, very average, and rather bland, definitely room for improvement. I suppose the demographic of PD is mainly older folk who jump and get excited at most food places. Unfortunately you can’t...
Read moreWe were very, very keen to check out the burgers at N17 since walking past a few days ago. We took the chance on a busy night, but unfortunately we were turned away by a staff member who told us they were fully booked. We totally understood and said we were happy to order takeaway instead.
While browsing the takeaway menu outside, the same server who had just spoken to us welcomed two other groups, one of three people and another of five, and told them they would make space for them. This was really disappointing and left us feeling like we weren’t valued as customers.
We ended up leaving and finding somewhere else to eat. Can’t comment on the food, but the inconsistent service left a bad impression.
Update: Thanks for the owner’s response: I appreciate the explanation and understand things can get hectic during peak times. That said, this wasn’t just about a table becoming available, it was the inconsistency in how we were treated compared to others arriving moments later, by the same person we’d just spoken to.
We were still standing nearby, within both earshot and line of sight, and clearly heard the conversations with the other groups. That made the situation all the more disappointing.
Whether it was an oversight or just poor timing, a little empathy and consistency in service would have gone a long way. We were genuinely excited to try N17, but ended up eating elsewhere nearby where we were...
