Cliffe's Cafe & Pizza — Restaurant in Queenscliff

The waitress was friendly but the quality of the food needs improving. If you're gluten free, give this place a miss.

The waitress offered to make a bunless chicken burger but what was delivered was reminiscent of the Fyre Festival sandwich.

Two small slices of cos lettuce, two slices of tomato, a slice of cheese cut into two triangles, a small pineapple ring, a tub of bbq sauce, and a thin, dried out piece of chicken, that along with the single short of bacon, was overcooked.

My partner's bbq chicken parmie was overcooked, as were the chips, whilst our teen's burger was somewhat decent. The only saving grace was our other teen's Hawaiian chicken parmie.

Add four drinks, and it totalled $103 for a very disappointing experience. But if we were to pay with a credit card, it would have been $105 to cover the surcharge.

I left still feeling hungry.

I understand that it's been a difficult time for people in the hospitality sector, but ramping up prices and serving substandard food...

We've been eating here often since the day it opened four years ago.

The staff are delightful and the café and kitchen clean. Best of all, the food is excellent. While many cafes serve food in stale rolls or buns, the buns here are always fresh daily.

We usually have the chicken parmigiana in a roll, with chips on the side. You can taste that little extra care that goes into everything they produce: crisp parmi, moist in the middle, herby Napoli sauce, generous overbaked cheese, fresh lettuce. And the chips are crisp, well seasoned and generous.

In four years, the young couple that runs the shop haven't had a day off, working 10am to 11pm and yet keep a smile on their faces, the premises immaculately clean and don't cut any corners on the food. They deserve every success and...

I really enjoyed this venue. I ordered the burger with the works to eat in but when it arrived I decided that I just could not get my mouth around it and it was very tall. I took it back to the counter and asked if they would wrap it in paper as they normally would do for a take away burger. This made the burger much much easier to eat without much of the contents escaping. I really enjoyed this burger and managed to not spill any of the components. The result was an excellent burger which I enjoyed immensely. Would definitely recommend this venue and the very friendly and helpful staff... May have to try the...
