Rip View Bistro — Restaurant in Queenscliff

Extremely disappointed with our experience. Where to start? Table was sticky and dirty right throughout, Chef was rude-they really should have the kitchen/chefs out the back and not facing the dining room if the chefs are going to criticize a PAYING customers order (I understand why we were the only ones dining there) also to refer rudely about a customer's order when only a couple meters away is very disrespectful and swearing to each other when having a conversation. This is just not on!!

The entire time we sat there we felt extremely uncomfortable as we could hear what was being said.

The meals were awful! Steak was inedible, fat was raw (I have attached a picture) & mashed potatoes? what mashed potatoes? full of LARGE lumps, microwave beeped a few times so who knows what was just re-heated. Pumpkin/Potato Soup, yet it has mushrooms in it? what about if someone was allergic or just does not like mushrooms!

There was just no care, no love put into our meals or service.

Shame as we had been years ago but will not...

Staff were pleasant, view was nice over the rip, meals we had were overpriced due to the food quality. Basic fishermans basket menu suited me, however I don't want 2nd class frozen rubbery calamari rings (2), or frozen prawns. The fish was apparently flake, however due to all the oil I couldn't enjoy it. The guest with me had spaghetti and meatballs. Straight away you could tell it was going to be dry as there was hardly any sauce, but there was a good covering of shaved cheese. The meatballs consisted of mooshy gooey mince that crumbled as the fork touched it. The taste might have been better if the meat mush wasn't so grose. Yes, we left disappointed....

Attempted to book my wedding dinner here. Was refused as '70 wedding guests would be too hard on their kitchen staff'

Today, great food and view. Out of three waitors/bar attendants only one was seen working, and she looked as though she didn't want to be at work. Staff were seen standing around with arms folded and chatting while dirty plates sat in front of our family for half an hour. Staff walking back and fourth but not collecting plates. Glad im not paying their wages...extremely unprofessional. It's a shame. Someone could do wonders in a place...
