Review of Aqua View Café, Hervey Bay We visited Aqua View with a $50 voucher for lunch for two, and sadly it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Hervey Bay. For such a prime location with ocean views, you’d expect fresh seafood or at least something worth eating oysters, mussels, prawns, or even a proper cold seafood platter. Instead, everything was deep-fried, overcooked externally, soggy inside, and tasted like it came from a freezer packet. The prawns were particularly disappointing. They were tiny — about the size of a five-cent piece — and we actually had to send one back because it was laughably small. Compare that to places like Enzo’s or Café Baleana, where prawns are plump and fresh, and Aqua View doesn’t even come close. We also tried an entrée that was some sort of duck-filled thing and cheese balls. Inside, they were mushy, soggy, and tasteless — like eating soggy cardboard. The food overall was completely inedible; we ended up feeding it to the ibis birds hopping from table to table eating scraps that hadn’t been cleared. Honestly, watching the birds eat was the highlight of the lunch. The only redeeming factor was a Pina Colada cocktail, which was decent (5/10). The food itself gets a flat 0/10. To be fair, the staff were kind and helpful when it came to using our voucher, and we appreciated that. But no amount of friendly service can make up for food that is this bad. The staff seemed confused that we had a voucher, they were e hausted looking as if they didnt want to be there. Looking around, most diners seemed to have left food on their plates too — which says a lot. I love supporting local businesses, but I cannot recommend Aqua View to anyone. Not for a special day, not even for a casual lunch. With such a stunning location, this place could be incredible — but the food is truly disgusting. Also looking at all the other negative reviews and the managments dismissive arrogant responses; I wish we had looked at the negative reviews before we bothered coming. They speak loudly. Avoid this place. Can't wait for a negative nasty and childish response below shortly.

Highly recommended. We missed dining at Aquavue during our last visit to Hervey Bay, so we rocked up during this visit. The cafe come restaurant is located at the top of the Scarness beach and has a relaxed and open ambience. The staff are friendly, polite, and engaging, and ensured our visit went well. With all credit to another patron's review, I ordered a prawn & mango salad and thoroughly enjoyed this nutritious and flavoursome hit. My wife ordered the barramundi and was equally happy. The icing for the visit was the superb blue ocean water views and watching two swimmers return to the beach after their reef swim.

Ate at aquavue per suggestion of the waterboat rental staff suggestion. Food was actually quite good! Prices are reasonable. View is fantastic. Staff were friendly. One note of detraction was that food was listed as having avocado in some dishes but because the kitchen had only unripe avocado they left it off the dish they served. This was no big deal and they offered to substitute, but did not alert us before serving. Had I not been hungry for avocadoes they would have just let us eat the dish sans a key ingredient without mentioning it. Really not a huge deal and the taste, staff, and view make the place a winner.

I have eaten at Aquaview at least once a week for the past 11 and a half years. Whenever we have guests staying, I always take them there as well. So I can conservatively say I've eaten there at least 500 times and I've never ever had any issue whatsoever. However yesterday I has an unfortunate thing happen when a young staff member fired up a leaf blower next to my table just after we got our food and some sand got blown on our food. Because of this the breakfast was, well, inedible. But I have had a good run with well over 1000 meals between us over that time and this was the first issue we ever had, so I'm still giving the place 5 stars. I didn't make a fuss, the young lady with the blower obviously realised her error and moved further away to continue her leaf clearing duties. I decided to write a note to the owner alerting him to what happened so that perhaps he could direct his staff to use a broom around tables in future. Well, that didn't go down well at all. The owner kept deleting my post, he made no contact with me and then he blocked me. So I copied and posted my note to a community page and I have been hammered, abused and threatened. The owner claimed to have 35 cameras showing the incident and that if I didn't delete my post he would post all the videos to show that I didn't complain to any staff member. (I'd already explained why I didn't complain). He accused me of slandering his business, he called me a bully and a liar. I asked him to please do post the videos, but he said he couldn't for privacy reasons. Instead, he posted what seems to be an AI generated image of 2 people at least 20 years younger than us, sitting at a table with empty plates - at night. He said that was proof there was nothing wrong with my meal. Then later last night, another image appeared of a waitress holding a nearly empty plate towards the camera - which apparently again proved I ate my entire meal. Someone smarter than me did a reverse image search, and the photo was from an American website. So while I have no complaint about the service or food all this time, a polite message to the owner has brought it all undone. Someone pointed out to me to check the Google reviews where people have given a bad review. The tone of the response and in some cases, the abuse is simply appalling. I wish there was a rating for owners attitude because that would score a big fat zero. So thank you for the memories Aquaview. It was fun while it lasted, but all good things have to come to an end eventually. Thank you for your...

Unfortunately 1 star rating was the lowest I could leave, although not sure it's even worthy of that.. I attended a function recently at the premises with 140 guests invited. The staff were well aware there would be this many guests in attendance as final numbers were confirmed at least 2 weeks prior. Despite this, there was only one till in operation which resulted in guests lined up for over half an hour waiting for drinks. Further to this, they sold out of both beer and vodka cruisers within 2 hours of the event commencing. There were vegan platters ordered specifically for guests however it got to 8pm and these had still not made their way out. When staff were questioned about this, they said "we'll start on them now". Multiple guests had left wine in ice buckets on their table while going to the toilet only to find they had disappeared on their return. When guests questioned staff about their drinks they were told, "if your drink is left unattended, it will be taken away", even though there were other people seated at the table. Not only did they charge almost $40 for a standard bottle of moscato, they would not offer guests any compensation for the half empty bottles they had thrown out. Guests were also told midway through the night, they could only order one drink at a time...not even a second drink for their partner. Of course, this resulted in even longer wait times for a drink. There were initially two toilets in operation however halfway through the night, one of these were fenced off and guests were no longer able to use it. This resulted in large queues of people lined up outside the one functional toilet. Staff were then rudely telling guests to move out of the way as they were in the path of the kitchen. The event was supposed to continue until 11pm at night however most guests including the couple paying for the event had left over an hour early due to the poor treatment and rude comments from staff. All in all, it was an extremely underwhelming, understaffed and overpriced night to say the least. The venue has the potential to be really good, being so well positioned on the beach front however due to poor management, there are 140 people who won't be returning to the premises. Perhaps instead of blasting everyone for leaving negative comments, the owner should actually take on board some of the feedback left and make the extremely necessary changes before the...

So I was attending my best mates wedding reception. Just a small informal gathering. A table had been booked for 30 people instead of a venue hire, i bring this up as an rather passive aggresice email trying to blaim my mate was sent the next day from the owner. Waiters numerous times got all our names wrong and alot of drink orders wrong. Attitude was very 'couldnt care less'.

All this was typical from young wait staff. What was incredibly dissapointing was when I went to order a drink at aprox 4pm and I was told no! We are closed! I was very confused and went back to our table and asked what time the venue was supposed to be open until and upon googling and also confirming with the grooms, it was 7pm. In this time another member of our table who was in the loo, went to the bar and had just experienced the same thing happen and came back confused. One of the grooms went to find out what was going on and was met in a very unprofessional manor. This was after he was able to find a staff member just to be told he should be thankful that we had a table longer then 2 hours. The whole situation was bizarely unprofessional as I have never been to a venue that closes with zero warning due to weather and short staffing and such a shame as we all were wanting to keep on putting purchasing food and drinks. I would also like to add what we can all gather the staff were sent home as there was more then enough serving and then there was 2 people left.

Thankfully we got taken to another venue by our hosts whom looked after us all so well without any booking even while they were so busy.

As for the food. I understand it was finger food but was very underwhelming. Staff attitude makes you question if they even want to work there as they showed zero enjoyment nor care in what they did. The cocktails could use some refinement as they were basic yet all missed the mark. The menu's, I understand it was raining but these look like they had been left in the rain more then just once, to the point some were unreadable and most all falling apart. Takes a few minutes to print a few and maybe relaminate

Shame as the venue has so much potential and was so excited as a visitor after being showed so many pics...
