Table Eleven — Restaurant in Queensland

I have been here multiple times, usually at least once a week for work and also for occasional weekend brekkies with family. There is a good selection of cakes and sweets, some are home made like the chocolate brownie which is very nice - and I’m normally not a fan of brownies. My favourite is the raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake. They offer a good deal which is cake and coffee for $15.90 and they offer cream and ice cream with your cake. The coffee is consistently good I’d rate as 4 out of 5 one of the better coffees in town. Fresh juices are divine and the smoothies have real fruit - I have seen some places only use a flavoured syrup. The Benedict is my go to and I really like the smoked salmon they use but had bacon for a change today. We also ordered the steak burger and a side of potato cakes. Portions are large, fresh and tasty, cooked well in clean oil. The staff are always friendly and polite. It can be quite loud inside when there’s lots of people, not a big problem though. The cafe is modern design and fit out and is always clean and tidy. Comfortable seating both inside and outside. Love the crockery! Also, they are dog friendly so you can bring your fur friend and they can sit outside and have water bowls provided with lots of pats and attention. Nice location on the Esplanade opposite the tennis courts, car parking on the street including one disabled car park, plus across the road there’s a larger car park with another disabled car park. Very angry. Waited 40 minutes to find out our food we ordered “must have been given to another table”. We were on a strict schedule to drive a couple hours south and didn’t have time to wait for them to “make again”. Who knows how much longer that would take.

Staff were wandering around asking customers at tables if the meals they were carrying out were for them or not. Staff had no clue which order belonged to who. We witnessed this for at least 4 seperate orders. Staff just kept wandering around asking customers until they claimed their meal. Get better staff!! Zero organisation!! Our meals were very specific with dietary requirements so not just popular menu items to drop at another table.

We got our money back, but didn’t even get refunded for the bottle of juice we bought which would have been a nice guesture or even if we were offered a free coffee or cabinet item. Nope. Just a sorry have a nice trip. Sorry doesn’t do it.

On holidays in Harvey Bay for a few days with a group of friends. Found this little cafe on the esplanade and decided to try them for breakfast. Very disappointed in our experience. Everyone ordered meals at the same time, but 3 of us were still waiting an hour after the first 2 had finished their meal. When questioned one of the staff said they wandered who meals were sitting there waiting. Apparently a wrong table number had been entered. 2 meals then came out but not the third. Once again asked where it was and they found the docket discarded in the bin. Requested the money back and no apology was given. Also one of the staff members was seen patting a dog on the sidewalk for quite some time. We observed this staff member proceed inside to prepare coffees and serve meals and at no time did they wash their hands. Very off putting when eating.
