Cafe Tapas — Restaurant in Queensland

Is this place under new management now ? Service and food died. I went there tonight, and the service was horrendous. It took 5 minutes until someone saw to me and there was only 6 people in the restaurant including me. My drink came late.. a mango ice thing ? Mango was unblended on the bottom and it was not nice. The food was oily but borderline ok. The service ? The young man with the bogan haircut serving me kept referring to me as "matey" (Im 60 years old) and when they brought my food (all at once) he said "here's ya grub". The music which has always been chilled and relaxing, today was just horrendous. It was not worth the $42 for my meal. For reference, meal was three plates. Soft shell crab (ok). Salt and pepper squid (not very good), and duck crepes (these were ok but oily). Historically I come here when I am stressed despite the food being a little expensive, as the atmosphere and service are normally fantastic and it really helps me to relax and feel good about life. Not today.. with that horrible music, bad service, terrible drink, shockingly bad music and still itchy from the seat (Feels like something bit me).. I probably won't return. Time to find a new place to relax. For reference, I have been coming here...

Wonderful atmosphere. I was here on a public holiday. This place is incredibly affordable. They were upfront with the public holiday surcharge of 10%, but I wasn't sure they had charged it at first as it was still cheaper than I expected. I chose seating outside. Be careful of the little blue lounges. They are dangerously comfortable and you won't want to leave. Every body has a different taste for coffee, but if it turns out you don't like it, you will probably just sit there staring at the mug that reminds you of the ocean. My wife ordered an iced chocolate. Served in a nice tall glass and made with actual ice cream! Much better than those that serve it with ice to chill it, which just waters it down. All in all, a perfect...

I tried my best to take photos before eating the food but it was too hard as everything was great. Naturally I ordered a lot because the menu is so vast and I couldn’t decide what I was willing to miss out on

The atmosphere was great. The staff attentive and ensuring we had hat we needed.

We came here 14 years ago and were thrilled they were still here and just as good as we remembered. If a restaurant is still there, more than a decade later - you know it must be great.

We came with two children this time and there was perfect tapas to suit their varying tastes.

Will hopefully be here next...
