Byrnes Pie Factory — Restaurant in Queensland

We arrived at 8am in the morning. The lady working there was outside in the middle of a task and she walked just side as we parked. When we got into be shop she was quick to ask us what we wanted and we felt quite pressured to choose quickly. After ordering she was quick to serve the pies, for us to pay and leave.

Service 2⭐️ rushed and not hospitable

Classic Round Pie - 3.5⭐️ - good standard meat pie, nothing special or to drive out of the way for. Chicken Curry Pie - 4⭐️ - classic Aussie chicken curry pie, the most tasty pie we had from Byrnes Cheese & Bacon Pie with Mashed Peas & Bbq Sauce - 5⭐️- tasty pie (I think the sauce helped, and the peas in the pie gave it a great texture. If you’re going to have a pie here definitely add peas! Sausage Roll - 2⭐️ - pastry was nice and flakey but the filling itself tasted more like flour than it did mince, it also lacked any salt. Lamington - 5⭐️ - sponge was light and airy, no improvements required.

Overall the food was good, happy with what I paid - fairly priced. Worth going to if you’re in the area, however not something I would drive out of...

Ordered by using the table service app. Sat outside for 11 minutes watching the staff talk to each other not serving anyone. A gentlemen walked in and got served so I decided to go in and ask about my order and the server picked it out of about 6 other dockets sitting on the bench from the docket machine. She said it was funny as it had apparently just come through yet I had ordered it 11 minutes ago lol. My coffee was already made but had been sitting on the bench all that time while my pie was the only thing else they needed to get. I sat over on the bench inside to wait for my pie which was then placed next to the coffee which I then had to get up and get myself lol Horrible customer service an apology and my order being bout over to me would have been a nice gesture after them clearly forgetting...

Updated 10/2/2021 the baked items are amazing these days. Had a phenomenal walnut apple Cronut thing with icing last week, very satisfying. They still do the peas and black sauce with the black sauce out of the bottle which is the difference between the Willetts Road shop and the original we feel.

Original: Husband can't wait for a drive thru pie shop. McDonald's will lose some revenue thanks to the creation of a Mackay specific drive thru pie shop. If you add in the amazingness of excellent coffee and trapped, then I shall be coming along...
