Today I went and bought a churro and a milk tea. The churro had zero flavour even though it was covered in chocolate. The churro did not taste sweet and cost $5 not cheap. Then I tasted my milk tea. I was asked if I wanted to add toppings I said no as I didn't want to pay anymore as I thought I would get black pearls free with my drink. I was given my drink and it did not have any pearls. I was also not asked if I wanted ice or how sweet I like it. The lady just made it how she wanted to make it. I tasted the milk tea and wow it was the worst milk tea I have tasted in Australia so far and I have been travelling for 7 months and have had milk tea in most major towns and cities. It had no flavour other than water. I started to feel ill after a while as it was like watered down tea. I will not go back to this place. $11 is not cheap. I would have asked for a refund but I doubt they would have given me one. Very disappointed and I don't usually give reviews but I feel like peope should avoid this place and visit a better bubble tea...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but as someone who works in hospitality, I felt I had to say something — especially after two bad experiences in a row. On my first visit, the Nutella was so cold and hard it was basically impossible to spread. Not a huge deal, but definitely not what you'd expect. I figured I’d give the place another shot, but on Saturday 3rd May was worse.
The sign clearly said they open at 2 PM, but the doors were still locked well after that. When we politely pointed it out, the male staff member working was rude and dismissive — no apology, just attitude. I also hope this is just a staff and not the manager or owner because it is absurdly disgusting to have a customer service like that.
In a tourist city, where good service should be a given, this kind of treatment is really disappointing. I know what good hospitality looks like, and this wasn’t it. I won’t be going back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values...
Read moreIt's been a while since I had a churro but my reunion with the delicacy at Churro Time made me feel guilty for putting off such a magnificent experience! Part of the guilt also comes with the calories though I wouldn't mind pressing rewind just to relive the first bite into the crisp exterior before sinking into the soft, beautiful dough within. Even with the free chocolate and raspberry dipping sauce, the cinnamon sugar churro tastes best in its purest form: Fresh out the fryer, golden brown and sparkling. The staff were cordial in managing the endless lines and delivering out high quality churros at a rapid pace. Next time I'm back in Cairns, the first stop will be Churro Time. Where else can you find such heavenly churros...
