Super cute bar with great vibes from the giant wall murals to the chalkboard art in the bathrooms. Cocktails are not standard "pub" cocktails so are slightly more expensive in the $17+ range, but totally worth it for the delicious themed drinks. Only $12 on Sundays though! Great selection of board games with every expansion pack of Cards Against Humanity ever made so no two games are the same. Empire is free to enter. You can play board games and card games that they have available on a bookshelf, which is self-service, easy to access. There aren't heaps of 2 player games, so that is something to be mindful of if you are only visiting with one other person. They also have a PS, I saw some people playing COD and FIFA on the PS. There is Mariocart set up on a Nintendo as well. Then heaps of arcade games, which are all coin-operated. There is an ATM inside the venue if you don't have cash on you, but you need a physical card to get cash out. First time in Cairns and we ended up visiting Empire on two separate occasions. Only a walk away to our accomodation and central to two, Empire offers a decent variety of arcade and pinball machines that is highlighted by a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. Free pool on Monday and Tuesdays, as well as N64 and board games which I thought was a pleasant addition. While I didn’t get any food, the drinks on offer were of variety, and we really enjoyed the shooters even though we don’t purchase them often.
