Waffle On Cairns — Restaurant in Cairns City

This is always my first breakfast place in Cairns. It is turning out to be a ritual now. In 2019, this place was recommended by my wife based on a quick google search for the best places to eat in Cairns. Fast forward to 2023, this place still serves the best waffles in Cairns. They have both sweet and savory style waffles with plenty of options to choose between both. We had the Avocardrio, Robert Brownie Jr and Black Forest with a latte as the choice of drink. The portions are enough for 1 and people who want to share would need to opt for a side. The Avocardrio was amazing with the scrambled eggs cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were fresh and not overcooked. The sweet waffles were warm, crispy and appropriately sweet. To my surprise, the waffles were not sweet at all. The sweetness came from sides like raspberry puree, Belgian chocolate, Nutella and the likes. The coffee was well presented but was average at best. Overall, our experience has always been great and it is one of the better places to have breakfast or brunch...

I admit. I thought waffles were just a dessert served with ice cream thing. I've never been more happy to be proven wrong. Savoury waffle menu blew my mind!

I did pass on my standard of eggs Benny and went for the hot Spaniard.. I was sold on the chorizo. My wife opted for the avocardio and a refresh juice and the plate was wiped clean! The juice was stunningly fresh and lived up to its name!

We seemed to wait a bit for our food but the restaurant was busy and the food was worth every second we waited so I was happy to wait...:)

Nothing was too much trouble.. we asked for changes to the dishes and they gladly obliged. The staff were lovely and seemed to be genuinely happy to be at work on a beautiful Friday morning!

Even the coffee was surprisingly really good!

Today I went to waffle on cairns because I saw good reviews about this place. When I went to order, I said I want just the waffle classic with bacon, and the guy who was taken my order said oh you want maple bacon waffle, and I answered to him, no I don’t want that because it is more expensive. If I get it on my way it would be just 17$ not 21$. At the end, he scratched my order and he said oh so a maple bacon, and the rest of the order. I felt so disappointed because he didn’t respect my decision, he decided for me. If he knows a little bit about customer service, he wouldn’t have done that. I think this is pretty unrespectful because I said it clearly not I don’t want that. The food is average. It’s not worthy to pay...
