I had high hopes arriving at Tasty Road and the food on the menu looked great, if a little pricey. However, we were seated for well over an hour before we got our food, this would've been fine if the service was good, but our drinks also took a good 20 minutes to come out which was weird as they were just canned/bottled drinks. We weren't told anything that was happening in the kitchen and I could see other tables were waiting ages, even takeaway was 30+ minutes. The whole time we were there, no wait staff came over to check on how our meal was going or updated us on time remaining for our meals. When the food came out, it was beautiful, I got the chicken and cheese chicken with chips, it was beautiful and I loved the cheese sauce but some of the other meals were very pricey. One of my friends ordered a chicken dish and it came by itself eight to ten pieces of chicken with no sides at all, the meal came to around 28 dollars, I would've appreciated a traditional korean/Asian side included with the food. All in all, the food was delicious and if the service was improved, I could see myself going back there, but I'd probably choose to go somewhere else in Cairns otherwise. EDUT: Just thought I should include, we were seated out the front which could've been a reason for the negative service.

We recently visited this estaurant in Cairns, Australia, and had a great overall experience. We ordered Mom’s Chicken Wings and the Garlic & Sweet Chicken, both dishes were absolutely delicious, with well balanced flavors and a moderate level of spice that suited our taste perfectly. The chicken, as confirmed by the owner, is halal, which was reassuring and appreciated. The food was served within 15 minutes, which was impressive considering the quality and freshness of the dishes. The service was smooth, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The seating area is ok, not fancy, but clean enough for a casual meal. The restaurant is in a prime location right in the city center, making it very convenient to access on foot or by public transport. One downside is that parking can be tricky, especially during busy hours, so it’s something to keep in mind if you're driving. That said, the prices are reasonable, and for the quality of the food and service, it’s definitely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for tasty halal chicken dishes in the heart of the city.

We were a group of three separate parties who placed our orders individually. Despite there being many customers ahead of us, there was no prior notice or communication from the staff about the potential wait time until after the third group had paid. Only then were we told, "You'll need to wait a bit.¹ Had we known that "a bit" meant over an hour, we wouldn't have placed the order in the first place. In any country and any restaurant, if there's going to be a long wait, shouldn't the staff inform customers before they make payment? When we asked the staff why we weren't told about the wait in advance, the response was, "I told the last group, so I thought everyone knew." Is it acceptable to collect payment from all parties without any prior warning and then tell only the last group that there's going to be a wait? While customers aren't necessarily "kings," basic courtesy should include an apology first, followed by an explanation such as, "I had informed the last group and thought they would let you know." Moreover, one of the staff members repeatedly brushed customers' faces with their hair while serving, which was unpleasant. Given the other negative reviews regarding the staff's attitude, it may be time to reconsider staff training. After waiting over an hour, the food itself was disappointing. It was overly salty, and the tteok (rice cakes) in the tteokbokki were especially poor. When served, the rice cakes were dry on the outside and tasted like they had been stored in the fridge overnight and then overcooked. It's disheartening to think that foreigners might taste this and assume that's what authentic Korean tteokbokki is supposed to be like.

Had the worst customer service experience in this restaurant. Avoid at any cause. The manager and staff are very rude. They shouldn't do a restaurant business if they don't like how kids eat.

If your manager is annoyed on the noise of 9 kids shouldn't she approach us for that, instead of rudely slamming the dish abruptly on the table? The people who bought outside food already went outside as per your wish. What else do u want? Why do u have to be rude? They're just kids being kids. It's not as if they're screaming on the top their lungs. They're just playing around their area they're seated on.

P.S nobody from our group claims "it is our restaurant", ridiculous! Neither me saying "that's why you're not popular", probably from another disappointed customer of yours. If that's what your manager told you to be the excuse of her rudeness to us, then she's a liar! She shouldn't be a manager, can't even manage...
