Its off to Grenny’s again for lunch our favourite local. Gus our dog enjoys Thursdays as they welcome him here on the footpath tables. The owner and staff are always friendly and happy to see you and are very attentive. Today we had a couple of drinks instead of coffees (which are very good according to John.) They are fully licensed and have a cool cocktails list and BYO wine if wanting. The menu is interesting with lots of old favourites including offal, we are working our way through. No offal for me though. Great seafood dishes both fresh and cooked. It’s so hard when you have a favourite to order something else sometimes but John went with the seafood crepe and I wanted to try the chowder. I normally prefer a chunky chowder this was blended but thick and tasty, tomato based not corn. The seafood flavour was definitely there it was different from what I am used too but very good. The KaiSiMin on toast is still my favourite and John’s is seafood linguine. The Breakfasts are all great and big. Lots of choice. A great open venue indoor and outdoor seating across the road from the river on Gympie Street. Well worth a visit we love it. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner. Very...
Read moreNot what we expected. We have been regular customers at Grenny’s at the waterfront in Noosaville over the years, unfortunately when Covid hit this was over for us. Last week Wednesday 30 November 2022 we went back for the first time in two years - for lunch. I’m sorry to say but it was a disappointment. The seafood chowder, well actually not sure what it was and definitely not enough for an adult. The chicken-schnitzels were overcooked as were the hot chips, the only dish that looked and tasted good was the pork belly. Friendliness of the waiter at the table good have been a lot better, in order to make you feel welcome. Overall not the best experience. Recap: Location: Good * Parking: Good * on weekdays Food: Average ** Price in comparison to the food: A little bit on the expensive side for what you get $$ ½ Customer service: Average ** Will return: Maybe, to give them a...
Read moreVery inviting ambience, airy and open spilling out into a barriered footpath dining area with views across Quota Park to Noosa River. Recommendations include the grain mustard gratinated rib-eye, thick and generous and served with large chips and salad or veg options, and the crunchy battered fish - a huge fillet delicately flavoured and creamy, served with large chips, aioli and salad. Tip: Check the board for specials first before looking at the a la carte menu. (We rushed into the menu and missed a great-looking special.) Loved the way they served the beer…with a large chilled glass tankard, left for the diner to pour to their own preference. Big servings, cooked to perfection, even the well done steak remaining juicy and tender. The best recommendation for any restaurant is…looking forward to going back again! Very good value for the size and the quality...
