Jamaica Blue Townsville — Restaurant in Queensland

We went on Saturday, arriving and putting in our order sometime around 11.50/11.55am. It was busy, but the coffee came out quickly, with no spoon which we got up for. Then we watched other tables order, sit down, receive their food eat and leave before half of our food order arrived, cold, as we had seen it be put up of the service counter not that long after our order was put in some 20 minutes prior. We returned the cold dish, asked after our other dish, and there was an offer to remake it. Poorly phrased with no sorry. I had to clarify that they were doing both dishes fresh. We eventually received our order around the 40 minute mark, and were immediately asked if we wanted more drinks... unknown if this was an offer to comp drinks or an offer to relieve us of more funds. I'm not quite sure how the customer service usually is at this Jamaica Blue, but I was less than impressed today. The food was subpar, with the hollandaise particularly flavourless. If I could rate this place a zero I would. This place is a joke, have been here twice and both times, the experience was horrible. The first time we went there, we waited 30 mins for our meal, only to realise they forgot our hashbrowns and the staff told us they were out. We weren’t told about this beforehand, we were just given our meal without something we paid for. The second time was even worse, we waited 30 mins until we received our drinks, then 45 mins after we’ve paid, we are still waiting for our meal. The staff then came up to us and told us that “the docket didn’t go through” and our meals weren’t being cooked. This is complete lies because how did we get our drinks and not our meal? The staff member gave us the option for a refund or to wait again for our meals to be cooked. There should’ve been more compensation for the unsatisfactory experience. Not good enough Jamaica...

Food: Big Breakfast + hash brown. $28.50 Was average for what you pay for. Lacked seasoning, and flavour, sauteéd mushrooms were almost raw, a bit of garlic butter would go a long way. $5 for a tiny ramekin on avocado, maybe 20grams worth, again no seasoning.

Service: the waiter was friendly and polite. The meals however came out lacking added items ie, hasbrowns, and egg that was requested to be removed was on the plate, their excuse was, "wasn't on the docket", and insisted that we remove the egg ourselves if it wasn't an allergy issue.
