The most awful serving sizes for the price, even for a tourist town. The menu lists the avocado toast with egg but is tagged as a vegan option dish, so presumably they have considered dietary requirements and have something ready to accommodate for this. What I got was a tiny pile of pickles instead. I always expect to pay more in tourist hotspots, but $25 for one thin slice of toast topped with avocado and some miserable sides (I would consider it almost a garnish) is absolute insanity. That's about double what I have paid for the same amount of food at some of the priciest Sydney cafes. Before coming to Mooz, I checked the online menus to make sure they had some good options as we had a tour booked that day and only had a little bit of time. I saw their avo toast option came with mushrooms and beetroot relish for $23. This menu photo was a year old, but I figured how much could change in a year, so chose to come here specifically for a hearty breakfast. Getting this pathetic amount of food for the price I paid was not only a massive disappointment, but left me hungry for a big portion of an active day...
Read moreA lovely gelateria at the end of the Cairns boulevard. Walking up the boulevard is serene even during New Years Day with strangler figs alongside the walkway. There's plenty of parking nearby.
A huge plus is that HALF the gelato freezer are VEGAN options! We were delighted!! We tried a scoop of the toffee banana and raspberry coconut. On a public holiday, you're looking at $13.40 for two single scoops, which is taking into account the public holiday surcharge. Ordinarily, it's $5.80 for a single scoop. I didn't see cones available- just cups.
The young lady offered us free samples which is always a plus at an icecream/gelato shop.
I'd recommend checking this little place out even just to eat your gelato in a beanbag...
Read moreBreakfast burgers were alright. Quite a bit of confusion over ordering. Breakfast burgers aren't on the menu, so after deciding to move on due to there not being anything we wanted on the menu, we saw the separate breakfast burger BBQ. There we were told to order inside, "just tell them what we want". We went inside where they struggled to take our order (x2 breakfast burgers!), then we were to take the docket outside, where because they'd not taken the order right inside, they struggled again. A bit too much hassle for alright food. Coffee price was strange, $4 for the coffee, $1 to have it on a mug, $1 for an unrequested extra shot (I guess because it was a mug?) surely that's included in the mug surcharge, $1 for soy...
