Moss on Wood — Restaurant in Queensland

Visited moss on wood for dinner and some drinks with my partner. On arrival we were told to take a seat and we would be served in a moment. We were seated and given a bottle of table water and some glasses. We then waited approximately 30 minutes, trying to flag a wait staff to take our order with no avail, other tables ordered, received, and completed drinks before I went to the counter to ask to be served, they stated it is table service, I stated we had waited a while and the waitress decided to follow me back to our table and took our order. We ordered a pizza and a jug of sangria. After approximately 10 minutes our pizza arrived. We ate the pizza no real complaints it was average nothing to write home about but not awful. After eating the pizza between us, with no share plates we waited 5 minutes then we had enough of waiting for our drinks and went to the counter to pay for our order. When the waitress confirmed our order she stated “just the pizza and sangria”. I replied we never received the sangria and refuse to pay for it. She stated they were having issues with sourcing an ingredient and that’s why it never arrived. We were never informed of this issue or asked if we wanted to change our order, the first we heard of it was when the waitress asked “so you don’t want to pay for the sangria?” The answer was a solid no (why would I pay for something I never received). Unfortunately I can’t give you a positive review. I must say the lady host that helped get us seated was fantastic, friendly, great customer service. We made two meal orders, both for schnitzels with sides of chips and vegetables, one with bbq sauce and one with peppercorn gravy.

The staff member bought out 1 plate correct and the other came out without veggies and then with Aoili and not pepper gravy. The plate with schnitzel was place back on the table so it doesn’t go cold then the gravy was bought out that resembled a dirty tap water, and tasted like homebrand 1 minute gravy from a supermarket.

Veggie then came out with a bowl of veggies delivered (very oily veggies btw), so not a nutritious side portion to my meql. healthy portion of my high carb meal.

Gravy was then redlivered and was too runny to worry about.

Staff member two came across as not wanting to be here, and wasn’t pleasant.

Anyhow. The positive was the post mix drinks being up to scratch and the customer service of the staff member that showed us to our seats.

I feel bad that I have post this review and then pay for it as it’s possibly my worst experience at any venue across Australia.

My daughter booked a table for 7 and a high chair online for her birthday. She rang to confirm on day of and they knew nothing about it. Table was then booked over phone. When we got there a table for 6 had 8 chairs jammed in and no high chair. Dinner and service was absolutely terrible. Waiter took order but didn’t write it down - we actually half jokingly asked if he had a great memory to which he replied absolutely. He forgot one of the orders and came to table to ask again - then asked a third time when I was ordering drinks at counter. We waited 45 min for garlic bread, meals came - missing two - all three burgers were cold, one was raw, onions rings were also cold, and all cokes had coffee beans in them - we mentioned it after the first round and waiter was surprised and apologetic - lucky us got them second round as well. Informed them when we paid the bill that we were not happy and why but they weren’t interested or concerned.
