Well Townsville, you do have some hidden gems, don't you!
Want a whopping serve of perfectly cooked fish 'n' chips? Well in Townsville Rock Paper Scissors is the spot to go to.
And when I say big fish and big chips that's what you get. The fish fillets are as big as your lower arm (think size 7 shoe) and the thick ships are superbly cut and fried and seasoned with salt and pepper.
Not only do they have a decent selection of fish who can grab a burger or even a variety of seafood cones and if you want to be ultra naughty have a fried mars bar!
Kids are well catered for with their fish 'n' chips served in a plastic sand bucket which they can take home.
There's also some specials on their menu during the week.
A terrific outdoor eating area across from ANZAC Memorial Park tops this great eatery off.
Rock Paper Scissors is one of the best takeaway fish 'n' chips I've had in the country, (seriously).
Great prices, great value for money and a great dinner grab a bottle of reisling and have quality fish 'n' chip in the tropics - it can't get...
Read moreEdit: Returned recently and will say that I was surprised that my experience in general was much better. I'm glad that I can return to change my 1 star review to a higher rating. General customer service was much better during my last visit and all staff members seemed to be very attentive towards their tasks.
Was pretty disappointed with my experience this afternoon. Waited patiently for about 8-10 minutes to be served, wasn't acknowledged once during this time. At first I was fine with this as the staff member was prepping a sandwich, but then paused her prep to talk to another employee about stock (again fine) and left the sandwich to be attacked by flies. During all time not even giving a "We'll be with you in a second" and no regard to the flies on the sandwich.
Usually I love this place, and as a hospitality worker myself I'm pretty casual with my expectations. I decided to leave and go elsewhere. I'd still recommend this place for the quality but wanted to leave feedback...
Read moreAbsolutely daylight robbery. So angry. Pulled up the menu online through the Treehouse website, thought the 'fish and chip sandwich' for $11 to be good value and I enjoyed it last time. Described on the menu as "fish & chips on fresh bread with tartare sauce & zesty seasoning, served with extra chips & drink". Decided to be a bit healthier and skip the extra chips and drink and get the "sandwich only $8" version. A friend paid and picked up the order for us ... only to find out the cost was actually $15! AND there was no chips in the sandwich and cheap soggy white bread. $15!! A photo of their menu displayed in store showed that while the fish sandwich was the absolute worst value, ALL meals had increased by $5 - $11.50! This is not a problem if you actually get to see the menu and decide you can't remortgage your house for lunch, but to not have an updated menu available is wrong. Will not be back and neither will my work mates. Actual menu with current prices...
