Front desk lady at magnetic island ferry terminal, Ellien who is a 40s or 50s lady with braid. She was really rude, and very unprofessional.
The story is I told her that I have booked a car via Sealink and would like to know where I can pick up the car. I showed her referencing quote number as i told her I didn’t receive any confirmation email. She said that is just quote. I said Alyssa has charged me $69 via the phone. I even showered her my bank transaction.
Then she said she needs to speak to her STL, u wait on the side. As she has about 4 customers there waiting for her to serve. So I called Alyssa for a confirmation email to save some time while I was waiting for her.
Then she got very angry saying that I didn’t wait for her. “Now u r speaking to my STL!” While I was on the phone. Then I got the number, but she was on the phone complaining about me to someone saying “she doesn’t understand the difference between quote and booking reference, she has no patience and won’t wait for me. Now she just ruined my day. It is too early in the morning.!”
I explained to her that I was trying to save her time. It is not her fault as I didn’t receive a booking reference. Then she basically told me to stop talking as she was still on the phone complaining about me. Later after her call, she said “that is not how it works here! I told u to wait. But u don’t wait, because you have no patience! u talk to my STL, u were doing my job”, while she was pointing to me couple of times!! I felt she was being so rude and being so racist.
Then I made formal complaint to her supervision Shannon via the phone on 27/3. I told her she can check the footage. She said she will follow it up and get back to me in couple hours. But she never ring me back.
This is very poor customer service via Sealink. I am very disappointed and upset how the front desk lady being so rude to me and her supervisor won’t follow up and get back to me.
P.S. other staff on the ferry and at Townsville ferry terminal were really great...

I’m giving this one-star review solely due to the shocking experience I had with one of the ticket counter staff. When I approached the counter to get my ticket printed for boarding, I was greeted with no "hello" and a grumpy expression. I thought perhaps she was having a rough morning, which is totally understandable. However, from the moment she started speaking to me, her tone was unfriendly, and her attitude exuded negativity—all because she asked for my reference number, and I didn’t have it immediately on hand.
I want to emphasize that there was no one waiting behind me during this exchange. When I politely asked why she was speaking to me in this manner, she responded with a very disrespectful, "You should’ve been more prepared coming here!" Maybe she was right, but everyone has their bad days. I was having a tough morning myself, but I wouldn’t treat anyone this way. The difference here is that she chose a customer-facing role, where such treatment is simply unacceptable. If her job no longer brings her any satisfaction, perhaps it’s time to reconsider her career choice. Treating customers this way is deeply disappointing.
Fortunately, I was able to switch to another counter, where a friendly, patient, and helpful young lady kindly printed my tickets.
This incident happened on May 20th at 8:30 a.m. with a middle-aged lady at the ticket counter.
I will be advising my family and friends to book with other companies, and I certainly will not choose SeaLink again due to this unfortunate choice of staff. I’ve already booked another company for my return trip.

For the young gentleman that was also there you almost shut a door on a 7yr old with out even watching what you where doing and didn’t even apologise to hear you laugh about it to the same person that treated the kids nasty you both should be ashamed of yourselves on how use treated kids and to announce your rubbish over the speaker aswel
