Blue Shed Fish & Chips Cafe — Restaurant in Roma

I'm going to be completely honest, I moved to Roma after living on the coast for my entire life...where I would routinely watch the local fishing boats go and catch the days fish that was served in our local fish and Chip shops. It's safe to say being 6 hours from the coast I glossed over the existence of a fish and chip shop in Roma, and after being let down by some of the fish served elsewhere in town I had all but dismissed that this would be any different ....

I'll admit now I was completely wrong. The fish is absolutely delicious, I've tried it battered I've tried it crumbed hell I even tried it grilled every single time...it's delicious. It's now at the point that some of the "award winning" fish and Chip shops on the coast could take a leaf out of the blue shed on how to make delicious fish and chips. Handcut potato cakes/scallops, tender calamari. Hell even the salads are fresh. The whole thing makes me comeback every Sunday for my weekly fix. To top it all off its priced so well!!! An absolute feed for two people under $40 If I could give 6 stars I would....

We're at Roma for a sporting tournament last week. Saw the good reviews and decided to give Blue Shed a go. The pricing is very reasonable and I was expecting good fish and chips. We ordered 2 Coral Trout fillets (crumbed and battered), a dozen calamari, small chips and salad. The size (~25cm) of the Coral Trout took me by surprise, and the quality was beyond my expectations. It was flakey, juicy and sweetness of a quality reef fish, both crumbed and battered were just as good. My photo doesn't do it justice. I'm still trying to work out how they do it cos surely it has to be frozen at some stage. The calamari has a nice buoyancy to it, not rubbery or too soft, just right. Chips were good and salad was just that. The lady who served us was friendly and helpful. We wanted to have it one more time on Sunday after the tournament, unfortunately it was closed for Sunday lunch. Highly recommend anyone try them out if you're in Roma and looking for...

TLDR: Highly recommend their chicken burger!

The Blue Shed has the most tastiest chicken burger I have ever had in my life. I would honestly drive the 6 hours to Roma just to buy this burger. I am not even the biggest fan of burgers and I will not eat anything else any time we go to Roma.

Quite a few parking spots available, and although none specifically designated, it is reasonably easy for a wheelchair. Store is also accessible but someone may need to help with the door to get in as it is a manual push/pull door.

Staff are friendly, store is spacious, and did I mention their chicken burger?...
