From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a blend of rustic charm and modern elegance. Patch serves locally sourced, sustainably focused food, and every dish reflects that attention to detail and quality!
My partner and I first came here on a recommendation from a colleague, and we were so impressed that we knew we had to return. This time, we brought my mum and dad for her birthday, and the experience was somehow even better than our first visit—Patch never disappoints!
We decided on the chef’s selection because we couldn’t narrow down the menu (it’s all that good). The ragú flan was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and the sirloin was perfectly cooked and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Even the bread and butter was delicious! The crème brûlée to finish was amazing - and a special mention for the off-menu cocktails—anyone who loves a cocktail MUST ask for the spicy margarita. You won’t regret it!
What really sets Patch apart, though, is the incredible service. Belle, the owner, personally served us, and she’s honestly the best server I’ve ever encountered. She’s attentive without being overbearing, full of warmth and personality, and truly makes you feel like a part of her family! My dad can be quite the character, and Belle handled his playful antics with such charm—she gave as good as she got, and won him over instantly. When she found out it was my mum’s birthday, she went above and beyond with complimentary champagne and extra oysters, which made my mum’s night. She has been raving about it ever since!
I later found out that Patch is the sister restaurant to Osteria Oggi, which makes so much sense. The same thoughtful décor, attention to detail, and welcoming vibe flow seamlessly here. You can see the passion behind the restaurant in every aspect.
As for the food, the chef’s selection is worth every cent. The quality and portion sizes are more than generous—we left stuffed and completely satisfied. The pricing reflects the experience and the quality of the ingredients, and it’s fair for the level of dining you’re getting!
Belle was a highlight of both visits, and by the end of the night, we were chatting and bantering like old friends. She’s the kind of person who leaves a lasting impression, and I can see why she’s the heart and soul of the restaurant.
Patch truly stands out in a region where restaurants can sometimes struggle to maintain consistent quality over time. We first dined here almost a year ago, and returning recently, it was just as exceptional—if not better. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for our next visit.
Patch has now become my absolute favorite spot in the Adelaide Hills, no question. The food, the service, the atmosphere—it all comes together for a flawless 11/10 experience. If you haven’t been yet, you’re...
Read moreSaw this cafe recommended on a blog page. Did not live up to the expectations. Firstly the meals on their Instagram arnt recent therefore are unable to be ordered if you partly pick your brunch spot off Instagram pics. we arrived for our booking at 10am. 4 people. We stood at the front door for approx 5 minutes before anyone even realized we were there even though the sign says “please wait to be seated” they should really pay attention to new customers coming in. Before we even sat down we ordered our coffees. 2 iced lattes, 1 normal latte and 1 milk shake. We asked for some extra time to look at the menus for food choices. After 10 mins we ordered our meals. By this stage it was about 10:15. The food came out about 15 mins later which was alright however still no coffees. Food was average not worth the price tag or the hype I read online. We finished our meals about 10:45 and at this stage there was still no site of our coffees. 40 minutes to make 3 coffees 2 of which don’t even require milk to be heated is extremely disappointing. We ended up telling them to not bother with the coffees and went through the McCafé drive through which managed to make them in the time it took to drive around the building. Some feedback to the cafe would be to focus on getting drinks out before meals even if that means delaying the meals by 5-10 minutes to make sure it all comes out together. Eating a meal without a drink that’s been ordered long before the meal is not acceptable. Perhaps a second person making iced coffees and teas that don’t require milk heated would so help this time frame. Definitely won’t be back and do not recommend unless you like eating a meal without a drink and having your coffee takeaway...
Read moreWe have been here last year and really enjoyed it but our recent visit was marred by a series of unfortunate incidents that significantly detracted from out enjoyment.
Upon arrival for our booking (for which we were on time) we were told we'd be dining in the private dining room but needed to wait for the table to be set. At this time I informed the staff we had an additional guest.
We (including my disabled 83 year old mother) were left standing for sometime amongst the busy patrons and rushing staff. This felt awkward and uncomfortable. Staff initially set another table and then ours.
When we were finally seated, we were led to a table much too large for out party size.
The distance between us was ridiculous - even more so f we hadn't had the additional guest.
The waiter unbelievably tossed the menus to the guests.
Shocked, but wanting to have a nice meal we didn't say anything.
Another waiter attempted to memorise our order but ultimately got it wrong. We corrected him and repeated it but our side dishes never arrived.
It is not impressive to take orders without writing them if you get it wrong twice..
As if these incidents were not enough , the staff indifference as we left the restaurant was the final straw. Instead of offering an apology for the subpar experience a manager simply mumbled a half hearted "thankyou".
We will not be returning given how many far superior great options...
