Sala Thai Cuisine — Restaurant in Stirling

Ordered take away by phone, all good, repeated back to me. Picked up and got home, things weren't so great. Pandan chicken was just a giant chunk of tasteless, over cooked thigh with no moisture left. We didn't get a red duck curry at all, instead we got some generic beef stir fry. The beef was tough and dry and there was no flavor to the dish. The crispy fish was also dry and overdone, except for the crispy outer which had gone completely mushy. Also, the red curry paste used on this dish had no flavor. We've eaten from Sala Thai a number of times, the last in March, which was a completely different and enjoyable experience. I fear that there are new owners, or a new chef, and they are not familiar with Thai food at all. I felt like I was eating generic Western Asian food, toned down by unimaginative palettes. We've dined at many different Thai restaurants and while SalaThai was nice, it didn't stand out for me. It was very busy the night we ate there so is obviously popular however I felt it was lacking any vibe. The food was fresh, hot & delivered promptly, unlike the service for another couple seated near us. The Massaman was disappointing as it seemed to be lacking something, although the beef was tender. Had the pleasure of eating there tonight (14/12/19) for the first time. The staff were so lovely and helpful and the food was incredible. I had Chicken Cashew and my partner had the Pad Thai. My meal was full of perfectly cooked veggies and crispy battered chicken pieces and my partner said the Pad Thai was one of the best he had ever eaten.
